Chapter 52: Helpless

As Aiden emerged from the room, he came face to face with Prince Mathias, who had been waiting for him to come out so they could talk. The two made eye contact for a moment before Aiden gave him a contemptuous glare and later he gave a smug look.

"Where are you going?" Prince Mathias called after him, but Aiden ignored him and kept going. Clearly he was in no mood to speak with anyone

"Why is he leaving with such a face of confidence?" Prince Mathias thought to himself, concern on his face. "I wonder what they were talking about. They seemed tense earlier, but this seems different. There seems to be something more going on here."

Ethan was sitting by himself, brooding over his recent interaction with Aiden. He was still feeling angry and upset, and he was trying to come up with a way to deal with his problematic brother.

When Prince Mathias arrived, Ethan looked up and saw him approaching. He was surprised and grateful for the unexpected company, though he was still feeling anxious about the looming issue with Aiden.

"What's wrong?" Prince Mathias asked, noting Ethan's tense expression. "Is there something bothering you?"

Ethan took a deep breath and let it out slowly, trying to calm himself. "Yes, there is,"

"I had a run-in with Aiden. He was acting cruel and dismissive, and it really upset me."

Ethan said, "It was just like old times, and it reminded me of how he used to treat me. How he would disregard my feelings and laugh at my expense. And all because he thinks hes much more powerful than I was."

Ethan continued, his voice cracking from emotion, "He doesn't care who he hurts. Only what he can gain. He's selfish, cruel, and I can't trust him anymore."

"At least you saw his cruel side now. Me and Sylvia has seen his side long ago. He literally despises us to the core...", Mathias shrugged.

"Despises you to the core?" Prince Ethan raised an eyebrow, "What did he do exactly?"

Mathias shook his head, "He tried to hurt me, he has bullied Sylvia for as long as I can remember, and he's shown no remorse for his actions. I would say that constitutes as despising me to the core."

He also added, "You found out about it huh?"

"What do you mean?", Ethan asked raising an eye brow again.

"The fact Aiden was the one behind the aphrodisiac accident?", Mathias says.

"You knew?", Ethan shouted.

"Well, I knew it was him the moment you carried Lady Marlin to your room. Your worried expression on your face clearly states that you didn't expected the incident. Besides I kicked her out way before our lunch time. So who do you think has the the authority of letting her in the palace "again" you think?"

Ethan sighs. Theres no turning back now.

Aiden was extremely angry and frustrated as he marched through the palace halls. He didn't care that people were staring at him or whispering behind his back. He was only focused on what he needed to do, and he was going to make sure that he did it properly. Ethan and his schemes had gone too far, and Aiden was not going to let it continue. The two of them must be stopped before they could harm him any further.

"That little kid Ethan really thinks he can stand up to me?" Aidan scoffed in derision. "He doesn't know his place, and he needs to be put in his place. He thinks he's so special and smart, but he's just a little boy who will never measure up to me. I will make sure he knows who the real boss is around here."
