Mathias was taken aback by the sudden attack on his cheek. His hand flew to the stinging sensation, trying to find an explanation for what had just happened. "What?"

Everi wasn't upset with him; she was crying because of him.

"I-" he began, but Everi cut him off, "No wonder you couldn't rule a kingdom if you make baseless assumptions."

Mathias hung his head in shame, but Everi continued, "One good thing you did was give up the responsibility to someone else."

He nodded, knowing she was right. He had made the right decision, even if it had not been easy. He would have to make things right with Everi and his family, but for now, the weight of the kingdom was no longer on his shoulders.

"Prince Ethan is really better off being a king..."

"....."

"He is even better in brains and love.."

"..........."

"He's definitely jealous rather being regretful for what he did. Should i tease him more...", Everi thought.

As Everi continued teasing Mathias, he felt a flicker of something inside him. Was it jealousy? They had always been close , but he couldn't help but feel territorial over her.

Unable to take it anymore, Mathias stepped closer to Everi. "You seem to be getting pretty interested with Ethan," he said, his tone low.

Everi glanced up at him, a mischievous glint in her eye. "What's the matter, Prince Mathias? Are you jealous?"

Mathias felt his face heat up, but he refused to back down. "Of course not," he said, his voice betraying him.

Everi laughed, but there was something different about the way she looked at him now. Was it...desire? He couldn't be sure, but he could feel the intensity between them growing with each passing second.

Mathias took a step closer to Everi. "I don't like seeing you with him," he admitted, his voice low.

Everi's smile faded, and she leaned in close to Mathias. "Well, then maybe you should do something about it," she whispered, her breath hot against his skin.

Without another word, Mathias took her in his arms, holding her close. Their lips met in a fierce, passionate kiss, and it felt as if the whole world was melting away around them. In that moment, there was only Mathias, Everi, and the passion they shared between them.

Taking a deep breath, he tried to regain his composure. "I plan to spend more time with you and Sylvia after I hand the throne to my brother," he said, his voice laced with determination.

Everi raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh really? And what do you plan to do with all that free time?"

Mathias smiled, feeling a surge of confidence. "Whatever makes you happy," he said, his eyes meeting hers.

Everi laughed, a tinkling sound that filled the room with light. "I can't wait!" she exclaimed, and Mathias knew in that moment that she was truly his.

As they wrapped their arms around each other, Mathias felt a sense of belonging that he had never experienced before. He had always been the outsider, the one who didn't quite fit in, but now he knew that he had found his place in the world with Everi by his side.

Despite the trials and tribulations they would undoubtedly face in the future, Mathias knew that their love would only grow stronger with each passing day. Together, they would conquer the world, come what may.
