It had been two days since Buck left the Strand residence. He had called out for the week, not wanting to face TK, Owen, or the team. They knew TK the longest and would potentially side with him, Buck didn't want to deal with that just yet. He had been keeping the other letters a secret from his therapist, TK and Carlos. The letter the therapist had read was only one of 10. Every week, he would receive a letter from his mother. The last one had threatened that she would hire a Private Investigator to find where he lived. He couldn't do that to the Strands. That's why he rented the apartment, so he could send the letter and not worry about them being caught in the cross wires.

What TK had stuck with Buck. Had Buck really been that naive to trust people, let alone get close enough again to have a relationship? Buck never had good times with relationships, either being ghosted or being called high maintneced after the bombing. Buck should have known he'd screw another relationship up again.

They all tried to contact Buck, but to no avail. Buck had turned his phone off and barely went outside. His mother would be visiting in a few hours anyways, so what was the point. He just sat on the bed, book forgotten while Buck was lost in his mind, thinking about how it could have played out differently. If he had kept his mouth shut, TK wouldn't have been pissed. Buck knew the shorter man had anger issues and was protective of both him and Carlos. It wasn't fair for Buck to bring up something that hurt him to TK. But Buck also knew that TK was being irrational and thought some space apart would help.

Buck was so caught up in his mind, that he didn't hear the knocking for a few seconds. He started to shake a little. His mother was here. Buck didn't know if his father was here, but he was shaking anyway. "Hello, Evan." Buck invited her in and she made her way to one of the chairs. "You finally decided to contact me. Not that I'm surprised. So, have you thought about what I asked?"

"Yes, I have. I am not going to contact Maddie. She barely contacted me after I almost died, twice, might I add." Buck responded. His mother nodded and spoke, "That I understand. You two were always close. What about coming back with me?"

Buck paused. He had really considered it. But, he wouldn't allow himself to fall into something he couldn't get out of. Never again. "I can't and I won't. You guys abused me. The only reason I agreed to meet was to stop you from harassing me."

"Evan Buckley! I was not harassing you! You weren't answering me and it was important that you did."

Buck sighed and walked around the room. "You don't understand, mother. You were sending letters every week! One of my teammate's kept staring at the letters." He rubbed his hand across his face. Margaret stood up and crossed the room to get to Buck. "You listen to me, Evan Buckley. If it wasn't for you causing a scene and getting your father and I arrested, I wouldn't have had to send anything. Why can't you man up? If it were up to me, you would have been gone when you failed Daniel."

Buck stared at his mother before allowing the rage that was quickly filling him up out. "Get. Out."

Margaret stared at him, flabbergasted. "Excuse me?!"

Buck faced his mother and stared directly into her eyes before growling out, "I said. Get. Out." He opened the door and tried to make her leave, but Margaret Buckley would not give up without making a scene. As Buck was guiding her out the door, albeit a little rough, a security guard passed by his room and Mararet started screaming at the top of her lungs. "Help me, please! He's attacking me!"

Buck instantly released her and the security guard came up. "Sir, I need you to come with me." Buck sighed and nodded. Margaret whispered under her breath, "Serves you right, Evan." He glared at her while he followed the Guard.

He followed the security guard to a room and was told to sit at the table. "Now sir, can you give me your side?" Buck sighed and wished Carlos or TK were here, but he screwed that up. "She is my abusive mother who only came here to mess with my brain. I was trying to get her to leave my room when you walked by and she started to scream. I swear to you that I would never intentionally hurt anyone." The guard nodded and went into another room where Margaret was. It took about 20 minutes before he came back in.

"Well, I can say that what you have told me may or may not be true. For now, I will allow APD to keep you for 24 hours, or unless someone bails you out. The woman, on the other hand, will be kept here."

Buck looked at the guard with shock present on his face. He was also scared. Carlos or Mr. Reyes might catch him there. He didn't really have anyone he could call to bail him out, so it looked like he was spending the night in Jail.

"Follow me, an officer is here to take you." Buck nodded and followed the guard again, slower this time, as to give him time to think. Who would be the 'arresting officer'?

Buck didn't have to ponder for too long. It was Carlos. The one of the two men he was taking a break from. Carlos was glaring at Margaret and when he saw Buck, just turned his head. Buck knew Carlos needed time to get over how they sort of ended things. "Thank you for coming, Officer Reyes. Here he is." Carlos nodded and brought Buck out to the cruiser.

It was a silent ride for about half the way until Carlos spoke up. "We didn't hear a word from you for two days after you left and this is how I find you, getting called because a man was attacking a lady. Want to tell me what happened, Buckley?" Buck flinched at his last name. Everyone knew not to call him that because of Nash. Carlos was staring at him through the rearview mirror. Buck ducked his head before answering, "I tried to get her to leave, but she started crying bloody murder when the guard walked by. I did not lay my hands on her, no matter how much I wanted to". The last part of that sentence was said more quietly than the first, but Carlos still heard it.

Buck looked out the side window while Carlos was driving to the station. Once they arrived, Buck was taken back to the holding cell. He really messed up, but he wasn't the one at fault. His mother made him out to be the bad guy, and now he had to pay for her doing. He was given one phone call and decided to call Eddie.

"Hello? Who is this?"

"Hey Eds..."

"Buck!? Did you get a new number? Where are you calling from?"

"A police station in Austin...Don't worry though, Eds. I'm only staying for the night."

Buck heard Eddie sigh before getting a response. "What happened?"

He was really getting tired of being asked, "My mother."

Eddie knew all about his childhood ever since his parents had come to visit in L.A. a week after Buck had left for Austin the first time. Eddie had told Buck that they were there and Buck had ranted on and on about his life.

"I see...Do you want to talk to Chris?"

"Yeah..."

Buck heard Eddie call for Chris and heard a woman's voice answer before Eddie said anything. "Lils said that he was already in the bed, but I can call you tomorrow, ok Buck? Let me know when you leave."

Buck agreed and the call ended. It was going to be a long night.
