"Eddie, what's going on? Whatever trick you and the team is playing on me isn't working." Buck instantly stated after the door shut. Eddie sat down on Buck's bed and gently took one of Buck's hands. "Buck...This isn't a trick. That was your team. The 126. You've been here in Austin for almost a year". Buck stared at Eddie and shook his head, retracting his hand. Eddie tried to get Buck to look at him, but failed. "Buck, just listen to me. Please?" Eddie said but to no avail. Buck wasn't talking to him. Eddie sighed and started to get up when Buck finally spoke again. "You're telling me that I'm missing two years of my life. How am I supposed to believe that, Diaz?" Eddie turned to look at Buck and noticed tears rolling down his face.

"Two fucking years of my life just...gone. How does that even happen?" Buck whispered out, noticing that Chris was still in the room. Eddie grabbed Buck's phone and, after typing in the password, showed Buck the pictures and text messages. He skipped over Maddie and Bobby, causing Buck to look at him confusingly. Eddie didn't say anything though, not wanting Buck to freak out. As they sat there, Buck kept glancing at Christopher, who was focused on his school work for the day. "Even though we told the teachers, he still wanted to be caught up in class." Eddie chuckled after he caught Buck staring at his son. "I...I missed two years of Chris' life, Eddie. How...why? Why did this all happen to me?"

Eddie took Buck's hand again. "You were in an accident and hit your head really hard. The doctor said you'd have Post Traumatic Amnesia, but we weren't sure how bad it was until you woke up." Buck nodded and then looked at his home screen. "Then, who are those two people I'm standing with?" Eddie grimaced, knowing Buck would beat himself up for something he could not control. "The one on the right is TK, Captain Strand's son. The other guy is Carlos. They are your boyfriends".

Eddie saw the moment that Buck's thoughts started. Being his partner for 2 years and best friend would do that. Eddie often noticed when Buck was thinking too hard or blaming himself. The eyes gave it away. Buck's eyes began avoiding looking at the phone and Buck himself would start to fidget. Eddie turned the phone off and sat there until Buck said something. "I...I'm not gay, Eddie. I swear. I..." Buck started before the sobbing hit. "I can't be gay Eddie. Mom and Dad won't allow it." Eddie brought Buck into a hug and shushed him. "Está bien, mi amigo. It's not your fault. It was some asshole who had a grudge against Owen." Eddie rocked him back and forth before Buck was finally able to settle down. At this point, Chris was done with his work and walked over to the two. "Dad, can I hold Bucky too?" Eddie nodded and helped Chris climb on the bed.

"It's ok Bucky, you didn't mean to forget. It happens. Like I forgot Mom's birthday last week, but she would understand." Chris said while hugging Buck. Eddie had to hold back tears after hearing Chris talk about Shannon. It had been a year, and he still wasn't over her death. Lily understood. Shannon was his first wife. On Shannon's birthday, Lily had held Eddie while they visited her grave.

Buck looked at him confused before looking at Eddie, who shook his head. Buck understood somewhat and let it be. "What about Maddie? Why isn't she here?" Buck had to ask again. Eddie wiped his hand over his face. "Buck... I don't know how to say this, but... You and Maddie basically hate each other right now. After...well...after you were released to train again, she didn't want you to go back to being a firefighter. So her and Bobby did what they could to stop you from coming back. She-she also said some very rude things about you."

Buck shook his head. "No, Maddie would never." Eddie reached for him. "Buck-"

"You don't understand, Eddie. She's the only family I've ever had. Why would she hate me? It's always been Maddie and I 'till the end. She pinky promised." Buck cut Eddie off. He was starting to breathe heavy. "Buck, calm down."

"No, you calm down Diaz. I can understand being somewhere else, cause that's all I ever did. But don't you dare think for a second that Maddie would hate me. Don't you fucking dare."

Chris let out a gasp before climbing down. "Chris, go wait outside." Eddie said through gritted teeth. Chris just walked over to the door, and with one last look, headed outside where he was met with Judd.

"Buck, please just listen."

"No, I'm done listening. It's a fucking joke. That's all it ever was to begin with. That team...you had to have this all set up. I get that we aren't really friends yet Diaz, but this is a low blow."

Eddie stood and turned towards the door. "I wasn't joking Buck. But if that is how you see it, then so be it. I'll be here tomorrow to let you see Chris, but don't say another word to me until you get your memories back." And walked out after that.

Buck cursed himself. He just had to ruin it. But it was Eddie's fault, wasn't it? Trying to get Buck to believe that Maddie would hate him. She saved him, why would she hate him? He began thinking back to when Maddie first showed up and how shaken she was. No, Maddie didn't hate. She loved. That's why she stayed with Doug. That's what Buck is going to believe until he is proven different.
