While Buck was away in L.A, the 126 have been working their asses off. Winter was back on the fire side until Buck came back and the calls were non-stop. It was a blessing that the crew even had a minute before their shift ended to rest. The constant calls meant no sleep for them, and many were grumpy. Namely TK and Winter. Tommy and her crew barely even had time to stock the ambulances between calls. They were a mess, but their shift ended in 5 minutes and Owen so graciously took them off of rotation after their last call. The team sat in the rec room, winding down after a hard shift when they heard a pair of footsteps walking up the stairs. "Excuse me. Sorry for barging in, but I'm looking for Evan Buckley." The person said. TK raised his head and saw a familiar looking person, but couldn't place her anywhere.

"Sorry, he's not here right now. Who are you?" TK asked. The woman noticed that everyone was staring at her. It made her a little nervous. "Oh, um. Hi, I'm Abby-" Before she could get anything out, Winter interrupted her. "Wait, you're that Abby? The one who ghosted Buck for months?" Abby let out a nervous chuckle. "Yeah, I'm that one. Sorry for interrupting your down time, I was just hoping to talk to him. To apologize. Maddie told me he was working here. She said they had some misunderstanding and he left. I could tell she wasn't telling me everything," She replied. TK glared when he heard that Maddie had told Abby. "And did Maddie come with you?" He asked.

"No, she said that she was busy. Well, thank you for your time. I better get going." Abby responded and started walking towards the stairs. "Abby, wait. How do we know that you are telling the truth?" TK walked towards her. Abby stopped and looked at them. Paul stood up and grabbed TK. "She's telling the truth, man. You can see it in her posture. No clues that she's lying either. Although, I am curious as to why you came to apologize to Buck". Abby looked down at her feet and responded, "I wanted to apologize for leaving him like I did and for ghosting him. I would put it off as my mother had just died and I needed a break, but it's not a good excuse for the no contact."

Winter scoffed at that. "You bet your ass it isn't an excuse. Also not a good excuse as to why you told Maddie that he was selfish to run away from L.A." Abby recoiled at Winter's venom laced words before finally realizing what they had said. "What do you mean? I never told Maddie that Buck was selfish. Hell, that would make me a hypocrite. I ran away from my problems. Why would she say that?" Abby inquired, giving Winter a curious look. Marjan was the next to speak. "Well, Abby. Maddie and Buck aren't on good terms as of now. Maddie basically stabbed Buck in the back when he tried to get back to the 118 and then supported his old asshole of a captain when they went to court. She also told Buck something that really hurt him."

Abby was shocked. Buck always talked about Maddie in a good light. Maddie was his only family and had practically raised him. Maddie even took Abby and her new fiance in when the train derailed. "Obviously, you didn't know any of that. We're sorry about all of this though, we just got done with a long shift and everyone is tired." Owen explained before turning to his team. "How about we all go home and rest. We need it after today." Everyone agreed and left, but Winter followed Abby to her car. "Wait, Abby. Did you really not know that Maddie had sent that?" Abby shook her head, "No. If I had known, I would have left her apartment immediately".

"What do you mean by that?" Winter asked, tilting their head in a way that Buck can only explain as a curious puppy would. "My fiance, Sam, and I were on a train heading back to L.A. when it derailed. She was the one who answered when I called 9-1-1. The 118 was there to help us and Maddie met me at the hospital. She only told me that Buck had left to come here and allowed Sam and I to stay with her. If I had known what had happened or that she sent Buck that message, I would have told her off and left."

"Well, Abby, I am here to tell you that Maddie is an awful person. Here, this is my number. Maybe we can meet this week if you're still in town and talk. You can tell me all about how Buck was like back in L.A." Winter handed Abby her number and then headed towards their car. Abby just watched as Winter drove off and then opened her phone and sent a text.

'Maddie. We need to talk.'

Maddie instantly called her. "Hey Abby, What's up?"

"You lied to me. And you told him that I said he was selfish to run away?! How could you?" She heard Maddie scoff.

"What, you believe in him more than me? I thought we were close Abby."

"No, Maddie. I heard it from his teammates who apparently witnessed a lot of this. You lied to both Sam and I about what really happened."

"Believe what you will Abby. He was selfish for running away, don't you think?"

This time, Abby scoffed. "Really, Maddie? Obviously you must know how Buck and I broke up. I ran away from him and from L.A. and found another man. I was the selfish one. I can't blame him for leaving. Especially when you are acting like an absolute bitch."

Abby was met with the dial tone as Maddie had hung up. She instantly blocked her number and texted Sam to do the same. Abby headed back to the hotel room before sitting in the parking lot and texted Winter.

'Let's meet tomorrow.'

'Bet.'
