Ceremony

Lunas POV
The mayor is holding a ceremony for "the heros of ValleyVille." Wyatt is stressing about it. He has to give a speach since he's the chief of police. Andy is a lieutenant but he wont even be on the podium since he wasnt there. Kari is only a detective so she couldn't make the speech. Jack and Spotter have been marked as "honorary officers" for the occasion. Everyones been invited to this thing. Its insane. "So, what do you think?" Wyatt asks. I looked over at him. Now he's actually in his police uniform. "I think you look stupid" I laughed. He pouted at the ground. "Hey, you look great, and you're gonna do great. If you need some motivation just look at me ok?" I say putting my hands on his shoulders. He nods. "Here, i got three 'back stage passes' since people will be crowding me again. So this one is yours" he says putting a lanyard around my neck. "Thank you. Before you go, can you do me a favor?" I ask. "Yeah" he says. "Can you not call me out on stage? Id rather not get crowded until after your speech" I say. "Of course" he says. I pecked his lips and he left.

One hour before the event. I should've listened to Wyatt a long time ago. Seeing everything he's done now has inspired me. I dialed a number on my phone. I started shaking as it rang.

"Hello?" She asks
"Hi mom" I say
"Luna" she says shocked
"Im sorry I havent answered you" I say
"Its alright. I understand" she says.
"I miss you mom. I was scared to talk to you before but Id really like to catch up" I say.
"I miss you too. I have some vacation days I havent used. If youd like, I could make the trip out to you" she says.
"Im dont know if dad would go for that" I say
"He doesn't know you called me?" She asks
"He doesnt know about the letters, the texts, or this call" I say. She took a deep breath
"Ok, well, Ill go to the hotel and if we run into your dad then Ill handle it ok?" She says
"Thanks mom. I wish I could talk more but I actually have to go" I say
"Its ok, Ill see you soon" she says
"I love you mom" I say
"I love you too Luna" she says.

Bellas POV
"Hey, the ceremony is soon. Do you wanna go? Im sure the cops would like to see that you're ok" Spade says. "Im not sure" I say. "Dont worry Bella. Spade and I will make sure no one crowds you" Ace says. I smiled. Ace has become a good friend. Im glad to have her and Spade. "Besides, Spade is right. Kari would love to see that you're better" Ace says. "I guess I can go" I say. "Good. Because Kari got us these passes" Ace says handing me a lanyard. "Thanks" I say. Spade put his on and took my hand. "Lets go" he says.

We're here. Ace, Spade, and Jane, their mom, have been keeping people away from me. Im glad because I really cant deal with anymore stress or pain right now. "Hey guys!" Luna ran up to us. "Hows it feel that girlfriends up there Ace?" She asks. Luna looked at me but shifted her attention back to Ace. Im glad shes not bothering me. Im guessing Wyatt talked to her. "I feel kinda weird. Im so proud of her, but Im also just relieved that shes alive" Ace says. "I feel you there" Luna says. "I bet. You're dating the chief of police! The guy that has to get up and make a speech in a few minutes." Ace says. "Yeah, Im actually kinda worried about that. He's been stressing all day and he hasnt really been feeling too good ever since he got back. I think he's just a little shaken up by everything" Luna says. "It did all happen really fast so that makes sense" Ace says. "Its good to see you're holding up Bella. Must be hell living with this idiot" Luna says lightly punching Spade. "Hey!" Spade says. I laughed. "Im doing fine. Thanks Luna" I say. She smiled and winked at me. People started clapping and we all looked at the stage. The mayor stepped on the podium. "Hello people of ValleyVille. Im honored to reward these four young citizens with these bronze medallions to signal their victory against the Kingsmen." The mayor says. The mayors brother took each medal and placed them around each of their necks. He then handed them their certificates. "Im also honored to reward Kari Kingsman and Wyatt Dalton with the Heartsaver Hero award, for heroically saving the lives of Aiden Kingsman, Bella Wolf, Diane Rutherford, and Stephan Braxton" the mayor announced. Wyatt and Kari looked at each other confused. Something tells me they had no clue they were getting that award. Jack, Spotter, and the rest of us clapped as the gold heartsaver hero medal was placed around their necks. They were also handed the certificates for it too. "Now, please welcome the chief of police, Wyatt Dalton, to the podium" the mayor says. He stepped down and Wyatt stepped up. The clapping calmed. "Thank you, for the awards and for the applause and to the mayor for the introduction. Um... I dont really have a way with words... I wanna thank my friends" he turned to look behind him at the three on stage. "Not just for helping me with the kingsmen but for everything theyve done for me. You guys are what keep me going" he turned back to to the audience but looked in our direction. He's looking at Luna. "They keep me going in so many ways" he says. Luna straightened her posture to keep from crying or falling over. "I want to thank my parents, for not giving up on each other because honestly I cant do this without both of you" he says. A quiet chuckle came over the crowd. "I mainly want to thank the person who saved my own life up on that cliff. The guy who isnt on this stage because he was nobel enough to go behind bars. Aiden Kingsman. He's the reason we're all standing up here. He may have been trapped in the bad place all these years but he came through in the end and Im proud to call him my friend. Thank you" Wyatt says. We all clapped as he stepped down. Spotter patted him on the back and Wyatt breathed out heavily.

Karis POV
"Hey!" Ace ran up to me. She jumped on me and I picked her up and held her. "Hi" I say. "Im so proud of you baby" she says. "Thank you" I say. She kissed me. "Did you know about this? Im shocked. I didnt even know a heartsaver award was a thing" I say. "I dont think anyone knew, except the mayor" she says. I put her down. Spade and Bella walked up to us. "Hey, good to see you awake" I say. "Thanks, and thanks for saving me" Bella says. "Of course" I say. "Kari" Aries tapped my shoulder. "Hey!" I said hugging him. "Hi. You look great in your uniform" he says. "Thank you" i say I say tipping my hat dramatically. He laughed. "Come on, mom is gonna die if she doesnt get like ten thousand photos of you" he says rolling his eyes. I laughed. "You wanna come?" I ask Ace. "Sure" she says. I took her hand and walked behind Aries. "Bye Bella, bye Spade. See you later" I say. "Bye" they said.

Wyatt and I made a trip to see Aiden. We have something for him. We sat at the booth to talk to him. He sat down on the other side of the glass. I picked up the phone and held it so Wyatt and I could both hear. Aiden picked up his phone. "Didnt think Id be seeing you this soon" Aiden says. "Yeah well, we had to stop by" I say. "I saw your speech Wyatt. Thank you, and good job to both of you. Thats quite the rank" he says. "You're welcome, but I wasnt kidding when I said you're a hero Aiden. Which is why, Kari and I talked to the mayor" Wyatt says. Aiden looked at us confused. "About what?" He asked. A guard walked up behind Aiden, handed him a large envelope, and walked away. "For you" I say. Wyatt and I smiled. Aiden was hesitant but opened the envelope. He was shocked. His eyes widened and everything. He slowly pulled out the two medals. The bronze one and the heartsaver one. "But why?" He asks. "Because you earned them, and those certificates too. You're the reason Im alive right now dude. I owe you my life" Wyatt says. "This is crazy" he says. "We know but you deserve it. You cant actually keep them in the cell with you, but when you get out, Ill have them for you" I say. Aiden gently placed them down and wiped his hand down his face. "I dont know what to say" he says. "You're welcome" Wyatt says. Aiden smiled. "Thank you" Aiden says. Aiden put the medals back in the envelope and handed it back to the guard. "Ill come see you again soon, ok?" I say. "Looking forward to it cous" he says. "Times up" the guard on our side says. "Bye Aiden" We say. I hung up the phone and Aiden did the same. I took back the envelope and Wyatt and I left.
