Don't Leave

Tylers POV
"So, I sent in your movie" Steel says. "And?" I ask. "And basically... my people loved it. So we're putting out there. You get cuts of profit and you have to authorize any merchandise and-" Aiden cut her off. "Woah woah woah. Thats a lot of stuff" He says. "Well yeah. This is a big step. Also, if you decide to sign the contract to work with us, when you make another movie, you'll have to come to Dark City to have our team look it over and fix minor details." Steel says. "What? But I can do that all myself" I say. "Yes but its just part of the system when you work with a company. They have to look it over before its published" she says. "So... Id have to move to Dark City?" I ask. "Movie production usually takes a long time. A few years most of the time. So, unless you're gonna take a three year vacation, yes." Steel says. Aiden and I looked at each other. "You have a week before the company pulls out. You have time to decide" she says.

"What are you gonna do?" Aiden asks. "I dont know." I say. "You cant leave" he says. "I know, but I need to take this offer while I have the chance! This is an amazing opportunity" I say. "Yes but, what about school? Or your family? Your friends?" He says. He hesitated for a moment. "What about... us?" He asks. "Well, you're my manager. Cant you come with me?" I ask. He shook his head. "When Bella bailed me out she said that I cant leave ValleyVille for four years" He says. "Oh" I say. "I understand that this is a big opportunity but is it really worth losing everything you love over?" He asks. I looked down. I dont know what to do. "Think about it Tyler. Just know how much you're risking if you say yes" he says leaving. I watched him leave.

Aidens POV
"That sounds like a terrible idea" Kari says. "It is. Im just hoping he can see that" I say. "What if he doesn't?" She asks. "Well then, we're all gonna lose a friend, and he's gonna lose his boyfriend" I say. "What!? You're gonna break up with him if he says yes?" She asks. "I have too! If he leaves for years at a time then Im gonna be here all alone and he's gonna be out with all those people. We cant live like that. I dont wanna do it but Ill have too" I say. "Im sure he wont do it. He's a smart guy... I think" she says. "You're really helpful" I say. "Sorry" she says.

Dukes POV
"What?! You cant leave!" I say. "Why?" Tyler asks. "Because... you're my only friend. I cant... I cant do this without you" I say. "Duke, we're always gonna be friends. Ill miss you too but-" I cut him off. "What about Aiden?" I ask. "What about Aiden?" He asks. "If you leave, you do realize youll have to break up" I say. "What?!" He says. "Yeah! You being gone for years at a time isnt healty for your relationship. Long distance things never work. Youll end up meeting some girl or guy that pulls you away and then youll cheat on him without even knowing it." I say. "I would never do that" he says. "Thats what they all say. We both know how these things work. We do our research. If you leave, you will have to break up" I say. "But... Ah! I dont know what to do!" He yells. "Is there really no other options?" I ask. "I dont think so" he says. I looked down in thought and then back up at him. "Leave this to me. Ill find a way to make this work" I say. "I really appreciate you trying but we both know that no matter what I choose, Im gonna lose something big" he says sadly.

I knocked on her door. Steel opened the hotel room door. "Oh, hi" she says. "Hi, Im Duke. Tylers friend. I need to talk with you" I say. "You're the one that did the editing right? You're really talented" she says letting me in. "Thanks, I uh, I wanted to know if theres any other way that Tyler can take your offer without leaving" I say. "Um... there might be. Its probably a more difficult route though" she says. "He cant leave though. He has to finish school. Plus, if he leaves then he'll have to leave his family, his friends, not to mention probably break up with his boyfriend. There has to be another way" I say. "Baby? Whats going on?" Her wife came around the corner. "Just business babe. Tylers friend here wants to know if theres another option for him" Steel says. "Of course there is. Its just a little pricey. We gave him the cheap option" she says. "Whats the other option?" I ask. "Well he could buy into our company and then send in his movie himself. Then my people will have to review it again and after all that stuff is done he'll get paid. We gave him the easiest option where he wouldn't have to pay and wouldn't have to redo all this stuff" she says. "How much is it to buy into the company?" I ask. "Uh... probably about three thousand dollars" Steel says. "Thank you" I say. "Let me know what he says" Steel says.

"No way" Tyler says. "Come on! Then youd get to stay!" I say. "I dont have three thousand dollars!" He shouts. "Then let me and our friends help you!" I say. "This is crazy Duke" he says. "Yeah but its worth it. Im getting you that money if its the last thing I do" I say. "Good luck with that" he says.

I gathered our friends. "Babe, whats this about?" Jasmine asks. "Tyler needs three thousand dollars to stay here with us. We need to find a way to get him that money. That way, he can get his movie deal and we can keep him here" I say. "Thats insane" Jack says. "We all want him to stay but thats a lot of money Duke" Wyatt says. "We cant let him go. Its for his own good. Help me come up with something. Please!" I say. "Ill definitely help you" Aiden says. "Yeah us too" Andy says gesturing to him and Bailey. "Im with you babe" Jasmine says. "Oh come on! That means we have to help too" Reo whines. "I mean hey, we can try" Jack says. "I think I have an idea" Zoe says. "You always come in to save the day huh?" I ask. She shrugged. "Whats your idea?" Skylar asks. "The mayor put the movie in our theater and we all paid to get in. I can get him to give a portion of the products to Tyler" Zoe says. "You're a genius" I say staring at her dumbstruck. "I know" Zoe says.

Aidens POV
I opened the door and Tyler came in. "Whyd you want me to come over?" He asks. "I need to talk to you" I say. "Are you gonna break up with me?" He asks. I smiled and shook my head. "Im gonna give you this" I say handing him an envelope. He looked at me confused and opened it. His eyes widened. "What is this?" He asks hesitantly. "Its a check. For three thousand dollars. Dont ask how, just say thank you." I say. He stared at me in shock and confusion. "Thank you" he says. "Its not just me. Thank all of your friends. Especially Duke. He got us all together to find a way to get that for you." I say. He hugged me. "Im so glad I dont have to leave you" he says. "Me too" I say. He kissed me. We pulled back and smiled. "Im staying home" he says.
