This feeling...
This...
This feeling again...
It was like then.
An order breaking through the unbreakable.
But this time.
The target of it was different.
Had she wanted it or not, Makima was forced to take a step away from the hybrid she had specifically called closer to herself then any of the others. It was like her body refused to be near to the first devil hunter.
She looked at Seifuku's glare. The weak little devil with compassion in her borrowed heart, the one that couldn't wish bad luck on her, the one that bent to her will without the need of their power because she wanted to please, the one dying because of such a similar outburst order from herself... Had no more pity, love, respect or reverence in her eyes.
The leash around her neck momentarily was proof enough of that for Makima.
It took one word, one person, this one woman and Makima had lost all she could dangle over her sister's head... No, never sister, Seifuku is nothing but a parasite.
Even if, like for Seifuku, when she ordered her to die, her chain had wrapped her up but exploded in pieces after, so did the leash but she still felt it there, she couldn't forget the feeling... She hated it, she hated it, oh how she hated it.
"How dare you?" She demanded. "How?!"
"If you can order me around when you truly mean it, giving into your hate when you scream it at me and for once stop faking your act. How do you think that it wouldn't be the same when I fell the same way?"
"You... You'll die today!" Makima yelled at her.
"Not before you."
Makima, in control of the pawns, is a master puppeteer but there are things even she can't expect. She might think having Quanxi to block Sei's swing would make the other stumble and stop, but she was not thinking with a human heart, she was thinking like a devil that couldn't let go of control and controlled was something Sei was not.
And so instead of the expected outcome, Sei put her guilt aside and carried her swing through, cutting her hand on the arrows making up the transformed hybrid's head but sending her crashing to the side and, with a spin following the momentum, she put a back hand swing of the other fist square in Makima's face.
The pink haired one stumbled momentarily, touching her face.
Sure she knew that kick would come when Sie saved the fiends but this? This was not in her pla--Her head whipped back.
Sei even hurt her leg with the strength she threw that kick out, ducking bellow the swing of the katana devil before punching at his left leg and sending it flying off.
Grabbing the body and with a spin, threw it at what she think is flamethrower devil.
She grabbed the whips lashing out and threw her over her head and slamed her into the ground.
"Are you really letting your pawns fight for you?" Sei asked, displeased that she needed to jump out of the way of arrows and duck behind bomb devil, kicking her into the crossbow devil, the explosion not going off fast enough to hurt Sei so it was only the hybrids that were hurt.
Makima raised a hand, any momentum or counter attack of the controlled devils stopping, just watching on like statues.
Makima once again looked angry, seeing her own blood from that kick to the face before her body healed through her contract.
"You'll regret ever coming back."
"Make me."
Makima held a finger up and Sei threw hers up too.
"Bang!" The blast of power pushing both back in a shock wave, each attack impacting the other with the same force.
She closed down one eye, trying to line her hand up in grabbing Makima but she was fast so she gave up, blocking a punch with the side of her forearm, making her slide across the concrete as if it was ice.
She hissed, feeling the nerves in her arms before a similar kick to her own was given back and she was send flying.
She felt several walls give out before she landed in a heap. Barely having the time to think before she was picked up and kicked out of the building, landing on the ground.
Sei coughed her lungs out as she kneeled before standing.
Makima had a blank face, not smiling, not angry, just the utter lack of emotions.
"To me!" Hearing the cacophony of crows amassing into a black blade in her hand while she stared back, her sister making rats emerge with flick of her wrist, palm aimed at the ground as the rats ran over each other to reach her hand before finally forming in a really similar weapon, just brown like the fur color of the majority of the rats that made up the weapon.
Sei turned to blade flat over her head, blocking a downwards strike from Makima, making her arms shake.
She shoved back and lashed out with a diagonal slash through her chest, blood splattering on her face, Makima have never developed as much of a defensive style as she would have if she could die. And so she took two other deep slashes through her stomach and chest before with a backwards slapping hit, she hit back.
It hit the flat of the black blade but threw Sei back, the devil that felt constant pain from being kicked through walls and being smacked unlike the other.
Makima left herself open after each swing while Sei played it more closed, exchanging blows that more often then not sprayed Makima's blood.
She quickly threw her hand out and yanked on the invisible ropes, crows rushing in all around them, impacting Makima in the shape of daggers and ripping into her body, chest, head.
Sei lifted the larger blade and drove it towards her core, cleaving her chest right open, if she is just fast enough to get her hand on it and consume it, this would be over.
But before she could have ripped it out, Makima's eyes rolled back down and stared intently at her as she grabbed her wrist, crushing it in her hold and swinging her over her shoulder.
The bird daggers falling out of her body, crumbling in bloody chunks that took up the shapes of the minced birds.
Sei had not let go of her blade and lucky her, that meant she parried on stab of Makima from the ground but the second was driven through her shoulder.
She threw her's like a lance through her stomach, sending Makima back as she yanked the other's weapon out of her shoulder, blood instantly coloring the hoodie.
"You are a failure of a devil." Sei looked at Makima whole pulled her blade out of her stomach and shattered it over her knee, the caws of the dying birds heard.
While Makima could out heal all her damage, Sei couldn't. She was still good enough with Long's blood that her wrist fixed itself but the wound on her shoulder didn't close, that would require more blood and all future injuries would.
"Maybe, you made me waste away but I can still win." Sei stood facing her, the brown sword running out of her hands in the form of many rats once again.
"No one can save you, you should just give up, I might make it quick."
"Nah." She put her hand in her pocket. "I don't think you would."
She lifted her hand up, Makima following with her eyes.
"I never thought you'd be so stupid as to consider this." Makima said. Watching how, held between each finger, Sei held a gun devil bullet.
One from the fly devil and the two she swiped from the now burnt down HQ of China.
"I would have had more if the one through my head hadn't been so deep in the wall or if I had time to gather the others but three will be enough."
"You'll kill yourself for me Seifuku."
"I am not stupid, I know I'll be on a timer." She grinned, tossing them in her mouth. "But as long as I stop you, I am fine with it."
