"It is not everyday that you call me Qua--""It's me." Sei hissed in the phone of the hunter, since hers was broken in the altercation with the group, she swiped hers for the moment.

"I am surprised you have her phone." Kishibe said on the other side.

"She didn't." Meaning she didn't ask Quanxi's permission. "And she can't complain about it, she and the fiends are sleeping now."

"Hmmm? How'd you know that?"

"China is a bitch, some truth telling devil chair and they still didn't believe me, I don't know why but she decided to get me out of that hellhole before I thought of fixing the trouble myself." She was whispering, hugging her knees too her chest as she sat on the guest bed and in the dark.

"Hmmm well you are lucky, it takes some skill to be interesting to Quanxi, unless you..." He stopped talking.

"I would never use that ability unless absolutely necessary."

"When she almost killed you it wasn't?"

"I didn't feel like it was no.... Almost let it pop of on China's higher ups tho, before she came in."

"Alright, do you want me to come get you?"

"You are a good friend to have but no, I guess I was just calling to tell you I am alive and as well as I can be since our last conversation got cut off by a sword through my phone."

"Be careful."

"I am, I want to live a bit longer before it comes to an end." She knew of his long bubbling plan of killing Makima but she wasn't mad at him. "Anyhow, how's it going over there?"

"Could be better, Makima found a chainsaw hybrid and he is being an absolute brat."

"Oh that's not good, try to get him out from under her manipulation. She was always obsessed with the chainsaw, since if that devil eats another that concept and fear vanishes and this ability works even if the devil is alive tho dulled, the chainsaw devil ate part of the war devil so the fear still remains but ever since that happened no wars started, Makima is obsessed with the idea of making fear vanish from the world, thinking it is necessary evil but well I know she intends to send the chainsaw after me too because that would for sure kill without bringing the other down."

"That's..... A lot of info.... I'll keep it in mind, stay safe, I gotta go now."

"Bye Kishibe..." He didn't answer as the line went dead.

Sei sighed, shuffling out of bed and silently opening the door.

Quanxi set her home up weirdly Sei thought.

There was two rooms next to each other, one was a library type and the other was the guest room, there was a large bathroom that was over the top but the actual toilets were in another room and the kitchen and living room were separated only by a partial wall with that living room actually technically being her bedroom since the big bed her and the fiends shared being there, instead of a couch, in front of the TV.

She plugged the phone in and set it on the bedside table, the light of the moon filtering through despite the still heavy rain.

She had an easier time then she thought she'd have, keeping a straight face while her eyes wandered over the naked dog pile tho she would need to ask, whoever it was that roared, to bring the noise down or she won't be able to sleep.... Which tonight led her to call Kishibe.

"They look peaceful like this." She thought with a smile, feeling like the intruder since she was that even if the fiends were all happy to have someone new to gossip and rant too, she was still an outsider, twin of the person that meant them death.

She sighed, going to grab the blanket from her room as the fiend she knew as Long had wrapped herself up in the one on this bed, and threw hers over them all, the least she could do to repay Quanxi for getting her out of there before she did something she regretted.

She did a gasp-y choked sound making her cover her mouth, speed walking to the toilets.

She closed the door behind her, gagging getting the best of her and red splattering in her palms, squeezing through her fingers and dripping down on the ground.

She leaned over the sink, grabbing the white porcelain with dripping red hands as she threw up a bucket-fill of blood, it spewing up into her nose as the liquid painted the white into red.

She coughed before heaving, praying for it to be done fast, knees knocking together as she was only holding herself up by the fleeting strength in her arms.

"S-shit." She hissed, wiping her hands under her nose and over her mouth. "Shit shit shit." When Sei didn't feel like there was more to retch up she stood, looking at the mess she made on her first night here.

She turned the faucet on, washing face, hands and the sink itself clean, using toilet paper to wipe the parts that couldn't be reached by splashing water on them.

Wiping the ground and throwing all in the toilet, closing the top and pulling the side lever to flush it before she sat on the cover, elbows on knees and face in hands.

"Dammit Makima, couldn't you have dealt that last blow that day? It would avoid this suffering right now, it would avoid me fighting to live despite this eating away at me."

She tapped her fingers on her forehead, Makima had sentenced her to this pain as long as she did live, somehow breaking through the rules that they didn't affect each other with control or domination.... That one time was costly for Sei.

She jerked up, grabbing on the back of the toilette as she yanked her feet on the cover too at the knock that scared the metaphorical shit out of her.

"Almost done." She said, pulling the flush again and turning on the faucet as if she had just finished, opening the door. "Ah, hi." She didn't know what else to say to the eye patched hunter staring down at her.

"Hi." She answered.

"Sorry if I woke you." She rounded her, walking away with a brisk wave.

Quanxi watched her go, feeling something was off but unable to tell what so she didn't bring it up.

She didn't react much, only tilting her head, when she noticed the one forgotten drop of red in the completely white room.
