(James POV)
He stared. His body froze in shock. The voices inside him were even quiet.
She was alive. But…this creature was not his Cassandra. It couldn't be.
This creature was blood thirsty. The glint in its green eyes was ravenous. The claws extending from its fingertips were twitching. Waiting for one of the figures circling it to make a move. The low growls and snarls were menacing.
'So,' He heard Ashia speak. Her voice steady but there was a hint of uncertainty and fear in it. 'Cassandra back from the dead. With a new look to boot, I see.'
The almost Cassandra look-a-like just kept her eyes pinned on Ashia.
Cassandra's lips curled on the sides in a humorless grin.
A female shifter behind her lunged at her. Before James could even blink Cassandra turned and caught her by the throat mid air and snapped her neck with a deafening crack before turning and dropping her body infront of Ashias feet.
'Next.' The voice that spoke was deep with a trace of Cassandra's voice underneath promised no mercy.
The shifters circling her backed up.
'Fine.' Cassandra whispered. The now green eyes flashed blue before three of the five bodies exploded. The woman standing next to Ashia went to run towards the door. In a second Cassandra pounced. They both rolled. Cassandra landed on her feet and rose. In her hand was a still pumping heart. Turning towards Ashia she dropped it as she walked towards her.
'Last but certainly not least.'
Ashias eyes were wide and terror permeated from her. It roused the voices.
'Her.'
He saw Cassandra's head turn slightly towards him. As if she heard something in the silent room.
Turning back to Ashia she spoke.
'You released the monsters in my mates head. Only fair you should be responsible for feeding them.'
Cassandra lifted her hands and Ashia flew back into the back corner of the wall. The chains that were holding him and Lucas to the chairs fell from them.
Cassandra's beast form slowly dissolved before left standing in it's place was the woman he fell in love with. Her blue eyes locked with his and she smiled softly.
Lucas sprinted towards his daughter. Inspecting her quickly he embraced her.
'Dad, we should go. Let James eat in peace.'
His face shocked before a gentle smile formed on his face.
'Good idea.'
Linking their arms together they walked towards the door. She paused before looking at James.
'We will be outside whenever you're ready. Have fun. Make it hurt.' She winked at him before leaving him alone with Ashia. Who was now plastered against the wall trying to move further away.
James stalked towards her. He needed no encouragement from the voices who were all but shouting for Ashias blood.
'Please…I-I just wanted you to suffer. To feel the pain I felt.' Her eyes were brimming with tears. Her heart beating fast as so much fear came of her in heaps. James continued to close in on her. She tried to leap to the side of him. His hand shot out and threw her back into the wall. He watched as the wall cracked with the impact of her body.
'I killed your sister because she challenged me on my land. You tried to kill my mate and an innocent child because of spite. Cassandra is right. It is only fair if you feed the monster you created.' James leaned in close to her and whispered, 'And they are starving.'
With that he let the voices take full reign.
Her heard her screams of pain. Begging for mercy.
Saw her terrified face contort on agonized pain.
Felt her hot blood on his hands as he ripped her flesh with his hands as it sprayed him.
Opening his mouth wide he sunk his teeth in her skin and tear bit by bit.
After a while her screams quieted. He was then left with bits of her body all of him.
The voices were quiet again.
He wanted Cassandra. Him. James. He needed to see her. Wanted to hear her heart beat again. Their son's heartbeat.
Getting up from the floor he flung gore from him.
Reaching the door he saw Cassandra waiting on the other side.
Not waiting another moment he pulled her into him.
'I'm sorry, love. So sorry. Are you alright? The baby…?'
Silencing him with her finger she spoke.
'I'm fine. Our son saved me.' She turned towards Lucas with a glare. 'With the help of mom. We will be talking about this.'
Lucas looked sheepish as he dropped his eyes.
'The voices are quiet now, right?'
'Yes. How did you know?'
Tapping the side of her forehead she smirked. 'I can hear them. No time to explain. They won't be sedated for long. We have to move. We need to find Rex and Vince. Johnathan is who we need to fix you. Let's go.'
