My phone rang a few minutes after I sent that message and I saw a number I had never seen before, and I quickly answered it figuring it was Norma.
"Hello?" I mumbled softly.
"My name is Norma Storm," I heard Norma respond. "Is this Sabrina Hart? From Facebook?"
"Yes, this is she." I answered.
"Where did you find Lydia? She has been missing for five years, how did you get in contact with her?" Norma asked.
"I live in New York, and I met her there."
"I guess she never left New York City then... weird." Norma mumbled. "I had not seen her in five years." Norma whispered as if she was taking my answer in.
"Five years?" I repeated in confusion. "I thought she was eighteen, she said that she was."
"No," Norma said. "She just turned twenty-three three months ago."
"She changed her name to Rebecca Ray," I told her. "I have only known her as that name before I contacted a college in New York she said she went to, and they confirmed there was no Rebecca Ray." I explained to her.
"Do you know where she lives? What job she may have?"
"No," I answered, shaking my head. "But I have friends who recently went over to her current home."
"Are you still in New York as of now?" Norma asked.
"No, I still live there but my family lives in another state and I decided to visit them for the weekend but my flight back to New York is tomorrow."
"Lydia is very, very dangerous," Norma sighed loud in the phone. "Look, you need to tell your friends call the cops and let them know what you guys know. Lydia has murdered before and if you continue to be her friend, you will be next." Norma warned.
"I am aware of her friend, Natalie Parker but is there anything else I should know about?" I asked and bit my lip.
"She had an ex-boyfriend named Dylan, they had dated when they were both fifteen years old," Noma sighed. "However, Dylan broke up with her because the relationship became toxic after six months of dating," Norma responded. "Lydia would text him nonstop all day and all night, it got to a point where I'd take her cell phone away for a few days, Lydia sometimes always questioned who he was with, where he was. Dylan was trapped in the relationship, and I was even worried for him, and she was my daughter." Norma said. "Imagine that." I heard the sarcasm in her voice.
"What happened after that?" I asked, frowning.
"When they broke up, she went as far as stalking him, things got worse, and I blame myself for not seeing the signs before in her early years." Norma answered.
"Is Dylan okay or did she kill--?"
"No, no, no," Norma said, stopping me. "Dylan and his family moved away and as far as I know, changed their names. Last I heard, they live in Georgia." Norma answered.
"Where the cops involved in any way?" I asked and sighed softly.
"The cops were called," Norma sighed softly. "And I was surprised Lydia was let off with a warning. Lydia had to go to therapy. But for a while, it was okay, and everything seemed to go back to normal. I had hope that Lydia still could have a happy future but then Natalie came along, and then things got worse again."
"I am so sorry you went through all of that." I replied in a soft whisper.
"I honestly blame myself; I have never forgiven myself for what Dylan and Natalie went through. I am a terrible mom." Norma said and I heard her crying.
"None of this is your fault, Norma." I assured her. "None of this is your fault." I repeated.
