Russia giggled as he ran through the field of colorful flowers, he plucked a few, then threw them all into the air. Awestruck by the petals carried off in the wind, he sneezed when pollen entered his nose. "Haha... You seem quite energetic this morning..." Russia's tail wagging caused the flower beneath him to sway in motion.
He turned to look at Mongolia, giving him a joyful grin, "How can I not be? I'm... I'm finally going home," he said with relief. Mongolia shook his head, "Don't get so excited little boy, it's going to take us days... or even months to reach our destination."
Russia deadpanned at his statement, "Killjoy, Mongolia," he scoffs. Mongolia chuckled at his reaction, "Aww... I thought you enjoyed my company, *Sigh* Guess you are pretty eager to leave me, huh?" He jokes, Russia's expression saddened. "N-No, i-it's not like that!" He panics, trying to think of a good reason, "I-I actually like being with you! It's just..."
Mongolia frowned, his intentions not being to dispirit his mood, "Relax, I get it, I would be homesick too... Forget I said anything..." They both silently continued onwards. Believe it or not, Mongolia's gonna miss him when he's gone, at least for some months... he hadn't felt lonely. It was nice to have someone next to him.
"Mongolia... are you okay?" Russia asks him while pulling on his wrist, wondering why he suddenly stopped. He quits reminiscing, "I'm fine..." he answered, then resumed walking... "It seems we have to go through this long forest... Splendid." He wasn't happy about it, Russia on the other hand was ecstatic. "The forest is good! There are tons of places to hide..."
"Exactly... I hate it..." He shook his head, there was no use beating around the bush, so he reluctantly went inside with Russia skipping ahead. The sound of birds chirping and flying above grabs Russia's attention, he looks above to see the feathered animals flying ever so freely. He dreams about soaring through the sky without a care in the world...
"Did you see a colorful bird? With you gawking upward like that, I'd say you were lost in the train of thoughts," He pats his head. "Mongolia... do you think I'll be able to fly one day?" Russia asks him. Mongolia wasn't sure how to answer that, he wasn't quite intellectual about dragons... or reptiles for that matter. "I presumed you could already fly, with you having two wings and all..."
Russia's two small wings flapped a few times, "They're not big enough to support my body..." he sighs. "Give them some time, they'll grow enough to become big," Mongolia stated. Russia perked up, "Of course, I'll grow up all big and strong, just like my папа!"
"Oh yeah? What does your dad look like?" Mongolia was interested in his sole guardian. "My dad is tall, strong, has sharp claws, big fangs, and can breathe fire!" He explained with his body, making body movements to resemble his father. "Ooh, scary, for an offspring of a dangerous dragon, you sure don't look threatening."
"Yes, I am, see! Rawr!" He opened his mouth to reveal his baby fangs and his tiny claws. Mongolia started to chuckle, then laugh at how cute he appeared, "Stop laughing, I'm terrifying!" Russia demanded and stomped his foot. Mongolia wiped the non-existent tear from his eyes, "Whatever you say, small one," Mongolia shrugged his shoulders and went ahead. A barely audible growl came out of Russia as he grumbled behind him.
...
After a few hours of walking Mongolia felt a crunching sound beneath his foot. He saw the crushed body of a long centipede, "*Gasp*" Mongolia tripped back and bumped into Russia almost falling. "What's wrong?!" Russia asked, supporting him from dropping. "Nothing, Russia... just stepped on a bug..."
Russia laughed, "You're afraid of bugs? Ha ha, you're not that brave for a grown-up, are you?" He teased his fear. Mongolia sighed, "It's not that I'm afraid... Insects disgust me, but I accidentally stepped on one, so that's kind of unfortunate for the poor bug..."
