Kate was determined to mend her relationship with her daughter. But first she had to know everything, so she decided to arrange a little reunion with her sister. —What's with that face?— Pippa asked, a little concerned at the sight of the dark circles under her eyes and the sadness in the princess's eyes.

—I had an argument with Victoria— she sighed, sitting down on the sofa and rubbing her temples with her fingers.

—What happened?— she asked, taking a seat next to her sister, who began to tell her everything.

—I need you to tell me everything you know— Kate said seriously, staring at her sister. Pippa sighed and shook her head.

—If I tell you, Victoria will stop trusting me, and I need to talk to her first— she said, earning a murderous glare from her sister.

—Are you joking? She's my daughter. I need to know what's going on— she said with tears in her eyes.

—Kate...— she murmured, intertwining her hands with his.

—Why does everyone know things that I don't? At what point did she stop telling me things?— she said with tears streaming down her face.

Pippa hugged her and explained her reasons —I need to keep her confidence. I'm the only person he talks to in the family. And if she doesn't talk to me, she will talk to her friends, who will advise her to stop talking to you because "mothers are a pain in the arse"— something inside the Princess of Wales changed and she nodded her head but not before imposing a condition —If it is very serious, I need you to tell me at once— she said seriously and Pippa nodded.

Andrew and Victoria had not spoken to each other all week. The boy gave her the time she asked for to think things over. But the princess wasn't thinking about any of that, the only thing on her mind was her mother. She hated arguing with her, because she felt so bad afterwards, but her ego prevented her from apologising.

—Do you know what you're going to do with Andrew?— Maya asked, pulling her out of her thoughts.

—I can't be thinking about that nonsense right now— Victoria replied with fake indifference. Of course she wanted to have something with the blond, but she already had enough problems with her parents without adding one more.

—At least tell the boy that you don't want anything to do with him. He's been fidgeting for days, not knowing what to do— the Australian defended him, making the princess feel even worse if that was possible —I'll talk to him— she assured, gathering her things to go to her dance classes.

All the way there she thought about Andrew and how his parents took it and she couldn't help the shiver that ran down her spine as she imagined the big scolding. She also thought about the press and how horrible they would be to him and his family. She wouldn't put him through that.

As she left dance she received a message from Andrew telling her that he was waiting for her at Vanilla (a wooden bench on the west side of the large courtyards of the boarding school) she sighed and decided to go there to confront him. She had a decision to make.

—I thought you weren't coming— the boy stood up, not knowing whether to give her a hug, a kiss or do nothing. Victoria shrugged her shoulders.

—It's good to see you— she replied awkwardly, losing herself in his blue eyes for a moment.

—It's good to see you too— he smiled opening his arms to receive a hug, however, the princess sat down on the bench ignoring his proposal.

—I'm not asking you to be my girlfriend... at least not for now. We can go out a couple of times and then you can decide— said Andrew turning in the direction of the teenager, who had her head down looking at the green grass that was all over the esplanade.

—I want to go out with you. But believe me, it's better this way— she explained, raising her eyes to meet his.

—Is it because of your parents?— Andrew asked desperately, he didn't care about anyone or anything. He was willing to give up everything if she asked him to. —You do a lot of things on the sly, what does one more thing matter? You're a teenager— the boy tried but Victoria shook her head repeatedly.

—It's not just about that. You won't understand. I'll ruin your life— she said as she ran off to her room.

Her parents were partly to blame, as they wouldn't like her dating a boy so soon, although she knew they would eventually accept it. She knew the press could be very nasty and if they found out she had a boyfriend it would be torture for the boy's family. And another part of the blame lay with her head, as it always made her think of negative things. It never left her alone.

—What happened?— asked Maya when she saw her best friend arrive with tears in her eyes.

—I-I can't— stammered the princess, putting her hands on her head.

—Hey Vic, calm down. Breathe with me— they took a couple of deep breaths until the chestnut calmed down.

—I can't go out with him— she said after a while in complete silence. Maya was surprised by her friend's words, which caused her to raise her eyebrows and make a hand gesture for her to continue —He's too nice, I'm going to ruin his life— Victoria confessed with regret.

—Why do you say that?— asked the Australian curiously -If the press finds out, it will be torture for him and his family- she answered a little upset.

She was fed up with the press, with her family... in short, with everything. Smoking a cigarette while lying in bed and crying seemed to be the only thing that made her release all the anguish that had been building up in her heart for years. She knew she needed to face all her problems to the last consequence. At that point in her life she didn't care if she ended the world. She needed to be happy, she deserved to be happy and she was going to do everything she could to achieve it.

Andrew was shocked by the princess's reaction. He didn't understand why she didn't want to go out with him if they had liked the kiss. Or so she gave him to understand. He thought about continuing to try, but regretted it after a second. He'd told her no, so he didn't want to be a stalker. He would leave things as they were, until Victoria told him something, good or bad.
