Catherine parked her car outside the boarding school after leaving her sister's house. She sighed before turning to Victoria who was already opening the passenger door.

—Vic— she said, putting her hand on her leg. She didn't want to leave her daughter there again without sorting things out.

—Goodbye— the teenager replied, pulling her hand away to get out of the car and slamming the door shut, causing the Duchess to lean her head on the steering wheel and weep silently.Arriving at Kensington, William rushed to the door to see how his wife had fared with their daughter. But when he saw the brunette's eyes red and puffy from crying, he knew things had not gone well.

—Hey baby— he went to hug her tightly causing the duchess to sob loudly. When she had no more tears left she began to speak.

—Our daughter hates us— she said so convincingly that the prince could not help the feeling of pain and guilt that ran through his body. Victoria was his first daughter and it hurt his soul that she did not love him, for he loved her with all his heart, or so his head wanted to believe. But the truth is that whenever he looked at his daughter he remembered those horrible moments they had to live through for her to be with them at that moment.

June 3, 2007

It had been a month since the couple had reconciled and they couldn't have been happier. But that joy was short-lived as Kate began to feel sick every morning, throwing up all the food she had eaten the night before.

—Darling, you should go to the doctor— William said, holding her hair in a ponytail with his left hand and stroking her back with his other hand.

—I'm fine— she replied as she finished vomiting. Inside she knew what was happening, but she was so afraid to say it out loud. The prince could see his girlfriend's concern on her face —You've been like this for a week Kate, that's not good— he replied as the brunette brushed her teeth.

—I may know what's going on— she replied fearfully as she looked at her boyfriend who raised his eyebrows waiting for her to continue, causing her to let out a big sigh, —I think I'm pregnant— she blurted out the news leaving the prince frozen in place. Seeing William's unresponsive reaction, she began to cry.

—Have you had a test?— he asked fearfully after a while of silence, causing Kate to shake her head —I can't go to the pharmacy myself, they'll recognise me.

The couple were in the bathroom as they waited the three minutes for the pregnancy test to come back. William was standing with his hands on his head looking at the floor and the woman was sitting on the toilet as she fiddled with her fingers. The seconds ticked by like minutes until the sound of the timer echoed off the four walls.

—You watch it— Kate ordered, looking at her boyfriend who slowly approached the sink where the pink stick that would change their lives forever sat.

—Positive— he said with disappointment, causing her world to crumble. The woman began to cry inconsolably. She did not want to have children at that moment. The prince began to pace the room as he cursed under his breath.

—We can't have a baby now! My family will kill me!— he said, looking at Kate, who was still sobbing, "Aren't you going to say anything?," he asked desperately, raising his arms.

—What do you want me to say?!— she raised her voice as her tears came and came.

—I need to get some air— said the boy, gathering his belongings and leaving the house to ride his motorbike through the streets.

Kate lay down on the bed with tears coming out of her eyes as if they could fill an entire ocean. She felt lonely and couldn't help but think of all she would have to leave behind if she brought this child into the world. But another part of her felt happy, she had always wanted children and unconsciously her hands rested on her still flat belly. In that instant she knew she would have that baby with or without William, if she had to flee the country she would.
