Victoria had returned to the boarding school without sorting things out without her mother, who had become quite ill. She hadn't slept for three days after having the same nightmare over and over again.

It had been more than a month since George had been born and Victoria couldn't be happier with her brother, although she was also very jealous of him, but how could she not be? if her parents had given her more kisses and hugs than she had ever received in her whole life.
—Mummy— shouted the girl, rushing down the stairs to show her mother the new steps she had learnt in her dance classes.
—Your brother is asleep— she added, provoking a pout from the girl.
—But I want to teach you my dance— she reproached, crossing her arms. Kate sighed and tried to handle the situation as best she could.
—Why don't we wait until your little brother wakes up and you can show us both?—the woman asked calmly —Okay— the girl replied defeatedly, ducking her head and could only reaffirm the fact that her mother didn't love her.
Victoria was in the playroom reading a book when she heard her little brother crying. At first she didn't worry, thinking that her mother or her nanny Maria would come for him, but that was not the case. The princess made her way to her parents' bedroom where her mother lay in the double bed fast asleep while George cried in the cot.
The little girl peeked over the wooden bars and picked up her brother and tried to soothe him by rocking him back and forth as Kate did. When she got him to stop crying she carried him back to where he had been a few minutes before and laid him down on a small couch in the corner of the four walls. She picked up the book she had been reading earlier and began to tell the story of the three little pigs.
Catherine woke up from her little nap and when she looked back at the cot, it was empty, which made her jump up and leave any trace of tiredness behind. She ran through the corridors until she found the cutest scene: her daughter reading a book to her newborn son. She smiled, leaning against the doorframe without saying a word, just watching the people she loved most in the world.
The woman was very happy about her children's interaction. Victoria had been feeling quite jealous since George's arrival. And she really couldn't blame her. Since they had learned of the baby's arrival, they had unconsciously distanced themselves from the princess. So she had been rather touchy with her brother.
Victoria looked up from her book and when she saw her mother in the doorway she couldn't help the smile that formed on her face —Mum, you're awake— she exclaimed happily.
—Yes, sweetheart. I see that you have been taking care of your little brother— said the Duchess, approaching the little ones who were still in the same position.
—Do you want to show us the dance you have learned?— asked the woman.
—Do you want to see it?— she said surprised and the little girl's big blue eyes lit up.
—Of course— she said, picking up the newborn to rock him in her arms as the princess did her lyrical dance. Kate watched her intently as she wore a big smile.
—Very good, darling— she cheered. Victoria felt great, she was getting all the attention she had been getting for a long time.
She spent the whole afternoon showing all her toys to George. She thought her mother had behaved well with her when she did it with her little brother. So from then on she tried to be the best sister and make everyone proud so that they would love her as before.
