Lennie's POVI looked at the sun shining above the houses. It wasn't too hot today.
"Hey, mom!" I called walking through the house.
"What?" She called back.
"Can I ride my bike around the neighborhood a bit?" I asked sweetly.
" I don't know..." She trailed debating the safety issue.
"I'll be safe. I'll stay within like 3 blocks. I just wanna get a feel of the place." I said.
She looked at me silently, then nodded as an 'okay.'
"Thank you, I'll check in!" I said excited.
I dug my bike out of the contents in the garage and rode slowly down the street. I took my time, pausing at certain spots.
I rode around for a long time. I didn't want to stay stuffed in the house for much longer.
Josh's POV
"Josh!" My brother yelled from the living room. I groaned and got up trudging towards the living room.
"It's the girl!" Jake said yelling. I broke into a sprint towards the window Jake was watching.
"You idiot, you missed her." Jake said, watching the bike disappear from view. I jumped towards the door to open it and look out. It was weird, but I really wanted to see her.
"You took too long." Jake pulled away from the window.
"How was I supposed to know?" I asked throwing my hands up.
He just rolled his eyes at me and sat back down. I watched out the window hoping she would turn around.
"Did you see her face?" I asked quietly.
"Yeah." Jake said looking ahead to the tv.
"Was she pretty?" I asked turning my whole body towards him.
"She was pretty cute." I groaned knowing I missed my chance to see her.
"Maybe next time." Jake said.
"I don't care." I said, walking towards the couch.
"You don't?" He asked, his voice intrigued.
"No, it's just a girl." I said, looking out the window from the couch.
He was silent, causing me to look at him. He was giving me a dirty look, I'm assuming he knew I wasn't being completely honest.
"You called dibs already." Jake said.
"Why are you pushing me to get with her?" I asked.
"I don't know." He shrugged. I continued to look at the tv infront of us ignoring my questions.
"THERE!" Jake yelled, making me physically jump.
"What?!" I responded confused.
"The window! The girl!" He said pointing violently.
I immediately rose from my seat, running to the window. Once again, I had missed her. All I could see was the back of her head.
Her hair flowed behind her as she rode towards her house. She pulled into her driveway while sliding off her bike. I watched her disappear into her garage.
"I missed her." I said.
"Again?" Jake asked, almost as frustrated as me.
"Yup." I sighed. I flopped back down onto the couch desperately wishing to know what she looked like.
"Hey." Jake said. "Let's call Danny over, play some. Maybe that'll draw her out."
I shrugged agreeing to the idea. I doubted it would bring her out, but we did need to practice.
Lennie's POV
I sat at the 'dinner table' with my parents. We got pizza, last night it was microwaved, so this was an upgrade.
The tv made noise in the background as we discussed little things. Mom wanted us to join programs to help us 'make friends.'
It sounded terrible.
"What's that noise?" Lacey asked confused.
"What noise?" My mom asked just as confused. We all went quiet to hear an odd noise in the background.
I got up walking towards the front window. I looked out at the street to find a cause. I saw the garage, the only garage I could confidently name, illuminated.
"I think it's the Kiszkas." I said from the living room. Lacey came up from behind me to look out the window. I went to the door and opened it up, making the noise amplify.
"They're in a band." I said smiling. I've always wanted to be friends with people in a band. Or be in a band, but let's face it, I cannot not sing nor play a valuable instrument.
"A band?" Lacey repeated.
"Yes, do you not hear that loud noise of drums and guitars?" I said.
"It was just a question." She said. She stalked off towards our parents. I watched a little longer for a sign of anything, but I gave up.
"You know, you guys could see if you could be their little band mates, wouldn't that be fun?" My mom asked. Me and Lacey looked at her silently.
"Okay, so a no on that one." My mom said. I didn't know what I'd do, but it was not going to be 'band mates.'
Dinner concluded meaning I could go to my room. I was mostly done decorating, so I spent my night organizing everything. I left my window cracked, to hear them play. I was curious how good they were. Not too bad.
It was silent for a while when I heard a laugh echo through the air. I rushed to my window to look out at the house.
There were 3 boys outside. I recognized Sam vaguely from his stature. Then there was the boy I think I saw the other day.
The third boy, I had no idea who. He was the loudest one. His laugh echoed through the quiet street. I couldn't hear anything they said, or see the boys face.
Maybe that was one of the twins, or they pulled one out of thin air. I watched them quietly. I hadn't realized I might actually be visible from my window, until the boy turned around.
I automatically shot away from my window cursing myself. I could hear my heartbeat, waiting to hear the laugh or anything. There was nothing til a car door closed and pulled away.
Once I was finally brave enough to look out the window, they had all vanished.
I felt the curiosity in me rising. I mean, could the boys really be that special? There was plenty of different cute guys.
I felt silly worrying about this random boy. Either Jake or Josh. Why were their names so basic? Jake, Josh, Sam, they all seem like they're in the Bible.
I pushed away any thoughts and got myself ready for bed.
