Josh's POV

I glanced to Lennie as she rode in the passenger seat. I was thinking about anything and everything right now.

I caught myself nervously running my finger over my lips, forcing myself to stop before she noticed.

I wanted to tell her, very badly. It was getting harder and harder to not kiss her. Every time I was close to her, I wanted to hold her, touch her, anything. I needed to tell her. I just didn't know how.

We pulled into her empty driveway, the porch light illuminating the sidewalk.

"I didn't know my parents were gone." Lennie said, opening her door. "I wonder if Lacey's here."

We entered her house, the stillness evident.

"Lacey?" She called out, no response. "That's weird, they didn't mention leaving."

"Maybe they decided to have fun sense you were hanging out with me." I said.

"Probably." She hummed. "You want a drink?"

"Sure." I shrugged. She went to the kitchen to retrieve drinks for us. We eventually made our way to her room.

She sat down on her bed, clearing the notebooks and papers off her bed.

"Do you want me to put the record on?" I asked. She nodded, and I made my way to the record bin. I flipped through them, finally finding the one I recognized from that day.

"Which one is the one you like so much?" I asked, planning to skip to it.

"Let it play. I'll let you know when it plays." She smiled. I did as she said and let the record spin. The music filled the quiet house. I crawled onto her bed, making myself comfortable.

"You have quite the book collection." I said, taking notice to her bookshelf lined with various books.

"Oh, yeah, I love to read." She said. "And, collecting books is pretty fun."

"Why go to the library when you have your own personal bookstore?" I said.

"Exactly!" She agreed, causing me to laugh. She laid down next to me in her bed, staring to her roof.

"You should get tapestries." I said. "It would fit your room perfectly."

"I've been meaning to." She said. "I always forget to get them."

"Well—" I didn't get to finish my sentence, ruined by her making a certain squeal.

"Get up!" She said, grabbing my arms, and tearing me off the bed. I hurriedly followed her to the middle of her room.

"This is the one I talked about!" She said, excitedly.

"What are you doing?" I asked, as she continued to move me.

"Well, since your here, might as well take advantage of if." She smiled. Her hands found their way around my neck, I wrapped my arms around her lower back.

We moved around her room, moving with the music. I spun her around, pulling her back as quick as I could. The smile on her face was intoxicating, I wanted to kiss her, I really, really, wanted to.

The tempo of the music changed, another voice finding the record. Time seemed to slow down, I spun her around more delicately this time. When I pulled her back to me, I moved my hands lower to her hips. Her hands tightened around my neck, pulling us closer.

She was right about this song. I felt lost in the music as we danced, lost in her. I could've moved with her forever. The tempo changed again, slowing our pace. Her hands started to tangle with my hair. I loved the feeling of her hands so much, I felt like I was melting into her. I pulled her body closer to mine.
