Lennie's POVI was so nervous to go the Kiszka's house. I hadn't ever been there when they practiced, or met Danny. I also wasn't sure if Ronnie was gonna be out there with me.
Josh
You about ready to head over?I'm ready whenever you are
Well then get over here
I excitedly left my house, and made my way to theirs. I went to knock on their doorway, when Josh opened the door. He looked just about as excited as me.
"Hello, Lennie." He smiled. His eyes gazed as he took in my presence. He did it every time, yet, it made me nervous, every time.
"Hi. Josh." I smiled. He backed away so I could enter. He led the way through his house towards the garage door. I could hear the low hum of a guitar through the door.
I entered the garage to see 3 boys and Ronnie. The only boy I couldn't name, stood beside Sammy. And I was pretty confident he was the boy I saw the first night here.
"Lennie, this is Danny. Danny this is Lennie." Josh introduced. Danny gave me a shy 'hi,' and I returned it. I found a spot beside Ronnie on the couch.
"You excited?" She asked.
"Of course I am." I said. We watched the boys converse and get their instruments ready.
"No matter how bad it sounds, you cannot make a face." She said. "I can, but you can't, that would kill them."
"They're not that bad, right?" I asked.
"No, they're pretty good. It's just sometimes Josh's screeching is a bit much, Sammy gets lost, and Jake gets off sometimes."
"I probably won't notice the mess ups." I said.
"Yeah, cause you'll be too busy looking at Josh."
"What about me?" Josh asked from behind us. I shot Ronnie a look as she had an evil grin rested on her face.
The boys were getting into their rhythm, feeling the music. I was really excited, I had never experienced this before. And from what I picked up, they weren't too bad.
A specific tune started to poke through. It actually sounded pretty good.
"This one is thunderstomp, I think." Ronnie whispered. I nodded trying to remember the name.
Josh's low tone sounded so good, I didn't really expect him to have a great voice. I found myself watching Josh for most of it. It didn't occur to me until the end of the song when I looked away for more than a second.
"Was that to your liking, Lennie?" Josh asked with his crooked smile.
"Yes, it was very good." I said. The boys smiled at my answer before they started to prepare for another song. They laughed and joked as they set up. Something about the way the energy flowed, it was so different. It felt perfect, like this was meant to be. The boys needed to be doing this.
They had played a few songs, some fully, some not. They began this new song, once again, sounding fairly good.
"This is one of my favorites, it's Funk No. 4." She said. I nodded and looked back to Josh.
Something funny I found, was that if you watched Sam, he made the funniest faces. He was constantly making his face contort in weird ways. And I was really impressed with Sam. He was only about 15, but played so well.
I shifted my focus back to josh, surprised to see him looking back at me.
"All I ever wanted, babe
Was your love, oh
All I ever needed, girl
Was your touch
All I ever wanted, babe
You to be true
All I ever needed, girl
Was you, oh"
