Lennie's POVI stood infront of my mirror examining my outfit for the tenth time. The boys managed to get a gig at a pub named 'Dead Creek.' The name was a bit sketchy, and the fact that none of us were even adults yet was a bit odd. Either way I was excited for them. This would be my first time seeing them perform with a crowd since me and Josh started dating.
Josh and I have been dating for 3 months so far. There has yet to be a dull moment with him. We spent a lot of time together, always trying to see each other. I only liked him more and more as we dated. I didn't think it was possible, I had so much fondness for him. It was the little moments, like when he turned around to steal kisses, or played with my hair that meant everything.
I drove to the pub, unsure of how this was going to work out. I should have asked him how to do it, but it hadn't come up, somehow.
I walked up to the front door, feeling like I was about to pass out. The guy standing at the door was terrifying.
"ID." He said, obviously knowing I was not of age.
"Uh, I'm with the band playing tonight." I said shakily.
"Never heard that one before." He remarked, making me want to shrivel up and die.
"No, sir, I—I promise, I'm supposed to have a ticket, but my boyfriend forgot to give it to me before he left." I said.
"No." He said. "You cannot go in."
"Can I call him? I promise I'm not lying." I said.
"Call him, otherwise you're not getting in." He shrugged. I hurriedly found Josh's contact, needing this to be over with.
"Hello?" His voice chimed, I was so grateful he picked up. "Are you here?"
"Yeah, I'm outside."
"Well, come inside. What are you waiting for?"
"You never gave me that pass, I can't get in without you." I explained, he let out a breathe, I assumed remembering it.
"Shit, I'm sorry, it totally flew my mind. I'll be out there in a second."
"Okay, bye."
"Buh-bye." I let out a breathe of relief before looking to the man.
"He'll be out here in a second." I said, awkwardly.
"Mhm." The man hummed. The seconds that passed by were excruciating, feeling like a lifetime.
The door opened, revealing the familiar face I was dying to see.
"Hey, sorry, Lee." Josh spoke to him, handing him the pass. "I forgot to give it to her."
"Hm." He hummed again, examining the pass. "Alright, give me your hand."
I extended my hand, confused at what was happening. 'Lee' pulled out a purple marker, and began scribbling on my hand. I looked to Josh estranged, him only holding up his hand for explanation. He had a matching purple blob.
"This is so you don't accidentally get served alcohol." Lee said, releasing my hand.
"Oh." I said, not being sure how to respond.
"Alright, you're free to go in." He announced opening the door. "Good luck, Josh."
"Thanks, Lee." Josh waved. I shook my head, trying to process this. It was so odd.
"You're friends with the bouncer?" I asked.
"He loves me." Josh said. "Him and my dad used to be friends, it helps out a bit."
