Lennie's POVI was excited for tonight. I had this odd feeling in my stomach, like something would happen. I tried to shake it off, but the nerves were driving me mad.
I really wanted josh to know how I felt. My only problem was that, if I told him, it could ruin everything. If he doesn't like me that way, I would loose one of my bestfriends.
There was a knock on the door, signaling Josh's arrival. I quickly told my mother bye, and rushed out the door to josh.
"Hello, Lennie." He smiled, the dumb smile always won me over.
"Hi, Joshua." I said. He led the way to his car, opening my door before going to his own.
"So, movies first, right?" He said.
"Yup." We drove to the other side of town to the movie theater. I wasn't sure what we were watching, I don't think he knew either.
We stood outside, debating what to watch.
"This one looks decent." Josh said, pointing to a display. I gave him a look, not really seeing how it would be very good.
"Ou, what about this one?" I asked. He looked over to where I was, at the screen labeled 'the theory of everything.' He shrugged, signaling he was okay with it.
We got our tickets and were debating on what food to get.
"I want a red one."
"Me too."
"But, I also want a blue one."
"Me too." We looked at each other, I think contemplating the same thing.
"Wanna share?" He asked. I nodded, excited to do that. That would actually be perfect, not having to decide. We also got candy and popcorn, and finally made our way to the seats.
The time trickled by, us soon realizing we were the only ones here.
"There's no way we're the only ones." I whispered.
"Let me check, again." He said. He stood up and looked over the whole theater, looking more pleased as he continued to look. "We're all alone."
"Okay, we're gonna make the most of this." I said. Josh gave me a look, his crooked smile flaring. I slapped him, feeling flustered.
"I'm only kidding." He said. "Well, unless you weren't kidding."
"Josh, please, shutup." I begged. He only laughed at me. He motioned with his hand towards my drink. I was starting to catch on to what he meant when he used his hands wildly.
"Okay, but seriously, what should we do?" I asked.
"Marco polo." He said, not a moment of hesitance.
"I actually like that idea." I said. He smiled, proud of himself.
"Okay, I'm polo." He said.
"But what if I wanted to be polo?" I asked.
"Too late, I called dibs." He shrugged. I laughed at him, right before he shot off, yelling at me to close my eyes.
"Marco!" I called. He stayed silent. "Josh."
"Polo, sorry!" He called back. I giggled a bit, bringing myself back. I was struggling to walk with my eyes closed.
"Marco!"
"Polo!"
"Marco!"
"Polo!"
We went on like this, every time I got close to josh, I heard him sprint off away from me. I was growing impatient.
