Lennie's POV

It was Friday, that meant I was going to Kiszkas' house. I loved going to their house, I was also looking forward to seeing Josh.

And Ronnie, of course. I just found myself thinking about what Josh would think or if I looked decent enough to be around Josh.

"Are you staying the night?" My mom asked as she washed dishes.

"No, at least I don't think so."

"Well, if it happened to come up." She paused for a moment. "It would be okay, as long as you stay away from Josh."

"Mom." I groaned. She had been like this since he came over.

"Len, I'm just being safe. You're lucky you dad hasn't asked questions."

"There's no questions to ask!" I cried out. "Josh and me, no. Me and josh, no. We are friends, I don't even know if he considers me a friend."

"Honey, he came over to our house to see you." She said. "He definitely considers you something."

She had a point. I wouldn't have went over there to see him, I'm not that confident. I'd be scared he'd turn me away at the doorstep like a beggar.

"I don't want to get any sort of hopes up." I said. "I don't want to scare him away. You've seen how I get."

"You will be fine."

I knocked on the door of the Kiszka's house and waited patiently. The door opened to reveal Mr. Kiszka.

"Hi." I said nervously. I hadn't spoke with him much.

"Hi, Lennie, come in." He backed away so I could come in the doorway. "Are you here for Ronnie?"

"Yup." I nodded.

"She's in her room." I headed down the hall and lightly tapped on her door.

"Hold on, I'm putting on a shirt!" She hollered. I giggled to myself, I hoped I didn't rush her.

"Oh, hi, Lennie." She smiled. "You're quick."

"Sorry."

"You're fine, now get in here." She pulled me into the room, nearly pushing me down on her bed. She walked towards her closet quickly.

"I was wanting to get your opinion on this." She dug through her closet for a moment.

"Okay, so I'm going to hangout with some friends on Sunday. Nothing huge, except." She peered at the door to check for anyone. "You know the guy I like, Andrew, he's going to be there.

"Ouu, that's exciting." I smiled. I looked at the clothes she laid out. There was a few tops and pants.

"Exactly, and I don't know what to wear." I analyzed the clothes for the best match.

"These, and this." I chose out a sweatshirt and pair of jeans she had. "They're cute together, but not too much."

"See, I was thinking about the sweater. I just didn't know." She looked at it before she began to grab it.

I started to feel this odd sense someone was looking at me. I looked up at the doorway, startled to see Josh peeking around the corner. When our eyes met his lips curled into a smile. I couldn't help but return it. We looked at each other for a moment when Ronnie appeared between us.

"What did mom tell you?" Ronnie threatened, irritated.

"Calm down." He said. Ronnie had the door closed enough to where I couldn't see Josh. They were silent when she simply shut the door on him.
