Lennie's POVI was excited to go to their practice. I wasn't sure why I loved watching them so much, I just did. I also liked the whole 'Josh' part.
I knocked on the front door and patiently waited for someone to open it.
"Lennie!" Mrs. Kiszka nearly cried out.
"Hi!" I said, unsure of why she sounded so excited to see me.
"Come in, come in!" She ushered, opening the door. "So, how are you, Lennie?"
"I'm doing great." I responded. "What about you?"
"I'm fine, thanks for asking, honey." She smiled. "Josh is in the garage."
I raised my eyebrow at the 'Josh' part. I figured he told her, but it surprised me. Usually she'd tell me where Ronnie is.
"They're all in there—Ron included." She added. I felt embarrassed that she might've noticed my moment. I said goodbye and quickly made my way into the garage.
I opened the door, all their heads turned to me. It kind of startled me, to be completely honest.
"Hey." I said, my voice sounding nervous. They all greeted me in some form, and went back to what they were doing. Ronnie began to make her to me, just before Josh swiftly got off the couch.
It was funny, they almost seemed to be racing towards me. My suspicions were confirmed when Josh shoved her lightly, as if that would throw her off her course.
"Lennie."
"Lennie."
"Josh, back up." Ronnie said, sounding slightly threatening.
"No, I can talk to her too." Josh snapped back.
"She's my friend."
"She's my girlfriend." They stared at each other for a moment, they were very intense. Despite that, I felt a thrill go through me when Josh said 'girlfriend.'
"You get her after me." Ronnie said, reaching for my arm.
"That's not fair!" Josh objected.
"I knew her first!" Ronnie said, already pulling me away. I gave a pitiful smile to Josh before Ronnie got me too far.
"Okay, so like, we haven't talked since that happened." She motioning to Josh as she spoke. "How is it?"
"It's good. I guess, how is it supposed to be?" I asked unsure.
"I don't really know, what it's only been 3 days?" Ronnie asked.
"Two days." I corrected.
"Whatever." Ronnie laughed. "Are you guys like officially dating?"
"I think so." I said, realizing I hadn't asked that. "Yeah, yeah, he called me his girlfriend."
"True." Ronnie shrugged. "Okay, and you can't tell Jake or Josh I told you this."
I scooted in, intrigued to hear what she had to say.
"That first night after you guys, however it worked out, Josh was like dumbstruck. Like he kept telling Jake that you were amazing. He's been acting all doped up, it's weird."
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah, I guess he likes you or something." Ronnie said. I laughed and looked to Josh who was standing by Sammy. When he noticed me looking, he turned his head a bit confused, but that didn't stop his playful smile from finding his face.
