Me and Leo flew towards the Artemis district as fast as we could. I couldn't let Luni be reminded of the horrors we faced at the academy once more, so I made her stay at home alongside Lele.

I had only been gone for a total of three weeks, and apparently bodies already started dropping. I'd didn't know how what happened, nor what occurred, but I was surely determined to find out for myself.

It didn't take too long to fly back to the Artemis district. It was literally just a few hundred hops, skips, and scoots away from our territory. However, when me and Leo did show up, parts of the city looked almost completely unrecognizable.

I could tell fire was present in some houses since the smoke did a good job signifying how the deed had been done. Whatever it was. As we landed, we saw a trail of bodies throughout the town that were being cleaned up by professionals.

The dead consisted of now deformed, exploded, and bloodied up humans that lived among us, but others were dragons that had either been burnt to a crisp, or had their insides turnt out. "What the hell happened here?!" I demanded answers.

"Lele had sent me to go shopping in the Artemis district's trading area, but as soon as I got here, all I found was this." Leo mentioned our surroundings. "Okay.. and what about the rumor you heard?" I still wanted more answers.

"We think we found Lucian." I heard a familiar voice speak from behind me.

"Ash-I mean, Mage!" I exclaimed, excited and surprised to see another familiar face again

"Ash-I mean, Mage!" I exclaimed, excited and surprised to see another familiar face again. "Wait-... what did you just say..?" I wished to know if I heard wrong. "We think we found Lucian." Mage repeated.

I didn't believe him for a second, but then he started explaining. "You see these bodies and the hazards?" Mage pointed at the chaos of bodies and destruction down the street.

"They were all caused by Lucian and some other individual. At least that's what our witness told us." Mage explained. My ears perked up. "Can you tell me who it is? And where are they?" I was anxious to know.

"Follow me." Mage directed us throughout the district. I was uppity about getting some info on Lucian, but I was still filled with questions. Why did Lucian do all this? Is the witness lying? Who helped him with these murders? Why was he doing this?

As these questions ran through my head multiple times, I noticed that we stopped right in front of a random shack with an extremely traumatized resident rocking herself on the floor.

"And I'm guessing this is the witness?" I asked. "Yes, she is-" Mage replied. Then out of nowhere, the witness slapped me. "What the f*ck-" Leo walked up on her, but I stopped him quickly.

"What the hell was that for...?" I raised an eyebrow. As I looked in her eyes, all I saw was pain and despair. "Why... why..?" She grabbed onto my shirt, "WHY THE HELL DID YOU LEAVE US BEHIND?!"

I looked at her blankly as she poured her eyes out. "What the hell made you think we wanted you to leave?! At the very least, we could have felt a little bit safer!" She poured out everything that hurt her.

While she continued to rant more and more, all I could do was stare at her blankly, and give her a surprise hug. "I'm sorry okay... I never wanted you to die, nor anyone else as a matter of fact." I tried to calm her down.

Instead of reciprocating the hug, her arms just went limp. I felt her tears streaming down my back as she began to sob a little. "I'm really sorry." I hugged her until she was done crying out her feelings.

It lasted a little while, but sooner or later she calmed down, and I let go. "Can you tell me your name?" I asked. "Elisabeth..." she wiped her eyes. "Elisabeth, I need you to tell me... what exactly happened..?" I asked, hoping not to spark any ptsd.

Elisabeth sat down and took a deep breath. Mage offered some green tea for comfort, and she gladly took a sip. "There was a gang war that was about to happen this morning. After we found out a rival gang had been stealing from us in the district." Elisabeth began.

"I was in the gang who wanted get back, and so was my boyfriend. Us and the others were about to run up on our rivals... but before we even got there, we saw a random dragon and a dragon blood looming over their lifeless bodies." Elisabeth got to the part that had my attention.

"We ordered them to tell us who they were, but all they did was glare at us with glowing green and shocking black eyes." Elisabeth spoke of a familiar and unfamiliar eye color.

"For some reason we were all scared, but refused to run away. Then, the green eyed dragon asked: 'Do any of you know a person named Elisabeth Nagisaki?' Out of nowhere!" Elisabeth started shaking a little, but caught herself.

"My boyfriend saw that I was uncomfortable with this, so he spat fire at them... and with a flash of lightning, his head flew off.. and his body exploded into a pool of blood..." Elisabeth started to cry again.

I leaned down and rubbed her shoulders, giving her more time to get through the rest. "A-and then.. the others tried attacking them in order to get revenge for him... it was all for nothing." Elisabeth looked at the bodies and wreckage.

"They completely humiliated our best dragons, and mercilessly slaughtered our human members. What's worse is that they proceeded to scope out the entire area for humans as 'punishment'." Elisabeth described.

"Once they were done with everyone else, they kept me alive. The green eyed dragon picked me up by the neck with his blue tail and said: 'Judging from how your little b*tch boy reacted, I take it that you're Elisabeth Nagisaki.' I was sweating so much, swore I was gonna die." Elisabeth fidgeted her fingers a little.

"They kept asking me questions about my other relatives and my sister... Kari. They wanted to know where she was, and I said she'd be in Oceania under the sea. After that... they simply just left." Elisabeth finished.

"Thank you." I gave her a light hug as a thanks. "Someone get her to the infirmary!" I called the medics to come and get her as I walked away with Mage and Leo. "Okay, so we can all agree that Lucian was here right?" I asked.

"Yup." Mage and Leo agreed simultaneously. "But the real question is, why would he want to know the location of the Eastern Water Empress?" I asked.

"Rumors have it that Kari is an extremely powerful dragon blood with healing and offensive abilities most water dragons could only dream of doing. He either wants to train, or have someone healed." Mage listed.

"I guess, but-... Mage... Have you found Faria's body yet?" I looked at him with eyes of realization. "No...-!" Mage finally realized it too. "Uhm... what's going? What's gotten y'all so pale??"

"Leo... have you ever heard one of the reasons why Kari became an empress?" I slowly looked at Leo. "Wait... you mean..." Leo's brain finally processed what went on.

"Yeah, a huge relic of water that can heal anything. Even a dead person if lucky." I clenched my fist. "The irisv pond." I stated.
