Are You A Ghoul?

"I dont exactly know where to begin" Cumulus sighs absent mindedly fidgeting with her blanket.

"What did C mean by "Ghoul"". You ask.
"A Ghoul is a kind of Demon summond from hell" she explains badly.

Demon....From hell?!

"You can't.. That's not.." you can't process and verbalise what you want to say.

She gives you a look of sympathy.
"Uh, so, every Emeritus has Ghouls that serve them... All the Anti Popes actually, from well before now.
They are summoned from hell to protect and help them while they run the church".

She pauses assessing how you're coping with the information.
"Papa Nihils ghouls were passed down to Emeritus I. New ghouls were summoned for Secondo when he became a Cardinal, while he's waiting to become Papa.
At first they were all nameless and from what I've heard it got confusing, so by the time Ghouls were summoned for Secondo, they were given names.
By the time Terzo came along they decided to summon Ghouls young enough to grow up with him, the brothers were mainly raised by Sisters of Sin.
His brothers decided they wanted better for Terzo, they wanted him to have friends he could rely on. The clergy had to bring in a very powerful coven for summoning rituals".
She stops again.

You look at her, "I haven't seen any demons running around" you scoff. "Or witches" you roll your eyes. This is unbelievable.

"And you won't" she sighs.
"You'll see them like you saw Omega in his mask and uniform." She pauses.
"Or...You'll see them like me" she looks directly at you, there's no questioning her yellow eyes glowing now.

You bounce up off your bed. No she didn't. No no no.
Immediately running out the door ignoring her calling out to you.

You don't know where you're going, you can't even feel your feet at this point.

Students are filing out of the cafeteria back to their dorms, you speed past ignoring more calls out to you.
How am I supposed to tell the difference between Demon and Human if they look like everyone else?!

You push open some giant doors and find yourself in the library, you run and hide between some rows of shelves trying to catch your breath.
Sitting on the floor with your knees up, head buried in them listening to the pounding of your heart in your ears.

An arm wraps around you making you jump. Looking up you see that it's Sister Umbra.
"Are you a Ghoul?" You whisper.
"What?" She laughs, eyes crinkling. "No dear, I am just a Sister" she watches your face for a moment. "Promise" she crosses her chest with her finger making an inverted cross.

"What happened?" She asks frowning, concern crossing over her face.
"Are the Ghouls... Real?" Surely a Sister won't lie to me.
"Of..course they are" she says confused. "Was nothing explained to you?". You shake your head "not this" you mumble.
"Oh dear" she mumbles. "Come", she stands up and helps you to your feet. "I can't go back to my dorm!" Anxiety making your heart pound in your throat.

"No, no, I need to lock up, come on dear". She places her hand on your back and you both move towards the door. She opens it and Copia is standing there waiting.
You pause, Sister Umbra walks out first. "Off to bed Copia" she scolds.
"But.." he glances at you. "No buts, go" she shoos him with her hands.
"I just wanted to-" he's pointing at you, "Bed, Now!" She says sternly glaring at him.
He glances at you once more. "Do i have to talk to Sister Imperator?" She asks him,hands on hips.
"Fine" he mumbles walking off. She smirks at he back of his head.

"Come on dear" she reaches for your hand and pulls you out of the library locking the door behind you.

She takes you in the same direction that Sister Imperators office is and you think she's taking you there. Sister Imperator has been kind to you but you're not blind to how stern she is. You glance at the door as you walk past.
"She will be in bed right now and i will not be the one to wake her, dont worry child" she smiles.
You walk a bit further, stopping before the medical bay she pushes open a less decorative door.
It opens up into a lounge and kitchenette area. "This is the teachers lounge, go sit" she gestures to the couches.
