You Exist

After your first few classes, at first break you wonder to he cafeteria to grab a snack not having had breakfast then walk to the courtyard waiting for your friends, dropping your bookbag sitting around the back of fountain on the edge watching the water sparkle.
"Oh look it's the loser, all alone, did rat boy dump you?"
You don't need to look up to know who it is. You ignore her biting into your apple.
"Are you deaf, bitch?" She shoves her face into yours. Your eyes meet.
"No friends here to back you up, make you feel brave" she laughs, friends behind her giggling. "I told you they wouldnt alway be around to save you  You are no one! You don't fit in, you're nothing, they arent your real friends and never will be" she snarls at you.
You stand up,
"What did i do to piss you off?" You ask confused and hurt.
"You exist".
Shes so close to your face you felt the spit fly out of her mouth.
Suddenly she shoves you and you fall into the fountain knocking your head on the way down.
You watch from the water disorented while they all cackle with laughter running off.
Pulling yourself up and out scrunching your skirt and blazer to get the water out, you pick up your book bag and start walking to Sister Imperators office. You've had enough of this shit.

Voices and laughing around you as you go are barely audible. Cirrus is running out of the cafeteria towards you "what happened?" She looks at you trying to keep up with your speed walking, "Shit, you're bleeding!".
You don't know when she stopped following you but you only notice when you get to the office door.
You knock.
"Enter"

You walk in cautiously.
Sister Imperator looks up, shock crosses her eyes momentarily then her face relaxes back to her calm features again. "What happened?" She asks standing up and walking over to you.

"Emily has been horrible to me since the day I arrived here. She just pushed me into the fountain" you say as she holds your chin moving your hair out the way to see where the blood is coming from.
She let's go, "Emily is an outstanding student, did you upset her?" She asks narrowing her eyes at you.
"I ..What? No, I try to avoid her!".
"Sit" she gestures to a chair.
She moves back around her desk, takes the phone off the receiver pressing a button, you hear her voice echo over the speaker ordering Emily to her office.
It's silent as you wait for her you're feeling very cold and just want to get changed.
There's a knock, "Enter" Sister Imperator calls.
Emily walks in, glances at you and smirks slightly.

"What happened?" Sister Imperator asks immediately gesturing at you to Emily.
She shrugs "I'm not sure Sister" she bows her head slightly.
"Y/n tells me you pushed her in the fountain?"
Emily gasps "There's no way id ever do that Sister, I was with my friends, you can ask them if you want" she smiles warmly at Imperator who nods.
"Y/n was anyone with you?" She looks at you sternly.
"No" you look at the floor, you're feeling dizzy now.
"You may leave Emily" she sighs
Once Emily is out of the room Imperator approaches you, "you need to go to the medical bay" she says looking at your head again.
"You can not go blaming students you don't like for accidents. This is your first warning, next time you'll have to have a detention".
"Yes, Ma'am"

You try to stand up but wobble a bit. "Oh dear", she grabs a hold of you walking to the door she opens it, "Copia what are you- nevermind,  help me take her to the medical bay"
"Yes, Sister"
He grabs your bookbag and takes your other arm. Luckily the walk is a short one up the hallway.

Copia opens the door and brings you in as Sister Imperator let's go.
"Ah Matron, y/n here had a little slip and needs your attention".
She turns to you "Sister Umbra will take care of you, remember what i said please". You nod slightly holding back tears as she leaves.

Sister Umbra takes one look at you and tuts.
"You should have come straight to me child, Copia bring her here". You're just watching the floor not looking up as he brings you over to a chair.
She starts by dabbing the blood off with some gauze. "What happened?" She asks. You shrug. "I slipped" you mumble defeated.
She stops and bends down so her eyes are on yours, "you did nothing of the sort, tell me", she stands again gently running her gloved fingers around your head, "Ah found it", she stops. "I'm waiting dear".

"What's the point? She didn't believe me" you mutter.
"I am not her"
"Emily found me, decided to tell me i am nothing and shoved me into the fountain" you groan annoyed that your tears chose this moment to start trickling out of your eyes.
Copia starts muttering angrily in italian you only catch a couple words at the end of his rant "fottuta cagna".
"Copia!" Sister Umbra scolds
"You don't know what I was saying" he tells her as he takes your hand in his.
"Child, I don't have to know, i know you!" She chuckles glancing over to your hands quickly, smiling as she continues clamping down on the cut to stop the bleeding she rubs your back with her free hand.

"Right, well, you need a change of clothes" she looks at Copia, "I can't send you to get them" she taps her chin thinking "who's your roommate?".
"Cumulus" you mubble sniffing.

Copia hands you some tissues watching you, clearly unhappy just standing there idle not knowing what to do.
"Here" she grabs your hand and places it where hers was "hold this down, don't move, Copia, over here".
He makes a disgruntled noise, "Copia, now, child!" he let's go of your hand with a huff.

When she comes back a few minutes later she's holding a tray of tea and biscuits, placing it next to you. She leaves again coming back with a medical tray with tubes of stuff cotton and needels.
"I've sent Copia to fetch Cumulus to get you some dry clothes" she says pouring the tea in a cup.

"Let me see" she says moving your hand. "Mmmm" she mumbles. "I'll need to pop some stitches in and put some strip's to hold it together it's quite the gash, dear".
"How are you feeling?"
"Dizzy"
"Mhm" she hands you the tea. "Dont close your eyes dear".

You sip your tea as she tends to your head, gritting your teeth with pain as as she dabs ointment and numbs the area.
"Copia seems fond of you" She mentions smiling at you.
You cough as the tea goes down the wrong way.

Copia comes back holding a bunch of clothes as Sister Umbra finshes the stitches. She looks at him like she wasn't expecting him "I told you to get Cumulus!"
"I did, and then I told her to give me the clothes"
Sister Umbra sighs "I told you to go back to class"
"I told her to go back to class" he grins clearly happy with his plan.
She chuckles at him rolling her eyes.

She takes the clothes off him, "If you need help changing just-"
"I can help her!" Copia interupts smiling.
"Satan give me strength, Copia, Out!"
She closes the curtains around you taking the medical tray as she leaves.

You lift yourself slowly out of the chair and turn noticing Sister Umbra has left a towel as well.
You undress, dry yourself and put on the clothes slowly. You take the towel and start drying your hair, "Ow Shit!"

The curtain is thrown aside immediately, "Are you ok?!" Copia asks walking forward to you.
"I could have been naked!" You say shocked
"That's ok" he shrugs
You snort. "I'm fine I was trying to dry my hair and forgot about the cut"
"You forgot?" He laughs.
He takes the towel and starts scrunching the ends of your hair gently in it to get it to stop dripping.

A wave of dizziness crashes over you, pinching the bridge of your nose you groan scrunching your eyes closed, Copia holds you by your shoulders.

Sister Umbra comes back, "Thank you for your help Copia, you can go back to class now".
"But..."
"She needs to rest dear, you are far to infatuated to leave her be" she smiles.
"Ah, I'll write you up a late pass", she walks off again.

"I'm sorry about yest-" you begin
"It's ok, Terzo told me everything", he wraps you into a hug, gently kissing your forehead.

"Did he mention I'm taking Astrid to his party?" you laugh but stop because it hurts.
He narrows his eyes at you, "not like that" you whack him, "just to annoy Terzo, he asked her and she won't go with him, she's actually really nice".
"Fine, I'll ask Sodo then" he chuckles

"Here you go" Sister Umbra holds out a bit of paper for Copia. He gives you one last squeeze taking the paper and leaving.

"Up you hop dear" she gives you a hand into bed, gives you some pain killers. Gathering all your wet stuff something falls out of her arms, "Oh look!" She hands you your Walkman, you smile.
