Unexpected Blessings ✅

Chapter 12

The evening went on and around 10 pm in the night Win and Krist entered the Cafe. Bright instantly noticed that Win looked very exhausted again. As soon as their eyes met Win face brightened up to several volt he waved his hand shyly "Hi" at Bright. In return Bright sigh softly and gave him a small smile. While Krist dragged Win at their usual table and automatically Singto went to the boys table. Krist instantly began chatting with Singto, who was happily replying to his questions about why he didn't pick up his call and what time he slept last night, plus why did he came to his apartment after closing the Cafe and bla bla. Bright was actually amazed to hear that Singto started sleeping at Krist already, he was just as enthralled by Krist like the way other was with him. It was a little scary how fast the other two were progressing considering how many proposal Singto has rejected before Krist.

Bright turned his attention to Win who has been staring at him somewhat with a dazed eyes. But as soon as Win noticed Bright was looking at him back and swallowed hard, he smirk followed by a soft chukled. Bright's eyes immediately shot down to the floor and he wanted to  melt into a puddle but instead he turned his attention on work. Win smiled softly Bright was really cute when he was shy. When Win felt Bright isn't much customer in the Cafe and Bright wasn't busy he walk towards the counter leaving Sing and Krist alone at the table and ask "How are you?". Bright answered "I'm doing alright. How was your work? You look tired". Win breath out "I'm fine. It's just the daily grind, you know?". In the end he laugh slightly. Bright nods and smiled in return. He poured hot coffee in a cup for Win and hand it saying "Drink it, this will help you". Win took the sip and muttered "Thanks". Win pulled a stool and start chatting with Bright asking him simple question like what he do in his spare time, or how he enjoy his job. In general.

Bright was enjoying talking with Win, as he was looking so amazed when Bright shared some of his college experiences how he was a topper throughout in school and college. Few time Bright felt Win was looking up at him someone great and big shot which Bright felt little weird and good both at the same time. It was new for Bright that someone looks up to him for advice, but that person being Win made him feel a little weird. He didn't exactly want the Daddy of his baby to look up to him as a mentor or someone great who could advice him about college and life but after talking Bright realize that atleast Win wasn't arrogant or a know-it-all kind of guy. He was very down to earth kind of which Bright really liked it.

As the night went on, a few more customers entered and Bright and Singto got busy. Win went back to sit on his usual table with Krist, both Bright and Singto pop back over to chat with the boys, but by the time the customer started leaving Bright came over to Win to ask if he'd like to eat something but find the other was fast asleep on the table, resting his head on his arms. Watching Win sleeping, made his chest tight for some reason. Win just looked so young and innocent when he was asleep. It was really hard for anyone to believe that he was going to be the father of a child in a little over half a year. When Singto  walk to Krist he noticed Win fell asleep and he leaned over to talk to Krist in hush tone. Singto took Krist  behind the counter to talk as he doesn't wanted to disturb Win. Win slept in the middle of a busy Cafe, as if he is used to sleep through that noise easily, Bright didn't had a heart to  wake Win up specially when he was looking so tired.

Bright also walk back behind the counter so that he could wash dishes as Cafe closing time was nearing. Bright heard Singto ask Krist "Is Win alright?". Krist answered giving slight smile to Bright "Yeah, he's just tired. He usually like this by the end of the day". Singto ask "Why? Does he not sleep well?". Bright pause doing dishes suddenly wondering Why Singto looks more interested in Win than he was. Krist shrug "I think he sleeps alright. I just don't think he sleeps a lot. He works at a grocery store everyday, so he deals with the usual customer service crap that keeps you up at night. I think he works a lot too. Like, he's not quite full-time, but he works more than a part-timer would. Then he goes to college in day, assignment, projects, tests and exams every now and then takes a toll on him. He's a busy guy".

Bright nodded, listening as Krist explained Win schedule. Win really did devote himself to things that are important. Now him and their baby had supposedly been added to his list as well. Bright's didn't want to depend on Win because it seems like Win was pretty much tightly stretched out already and at some point something was bound to snap at him which will surely affect Bright and their baby. But Bright couldn't stop himself , he respect Win efforts. Win was a hard working guy and that was a quality he really liked in people. In all honesty Bright was never against Win working in supermarket as he himself started working at the age of sixteen in a restaurant as waiter, he was just concerned for the young guy and doesn't wanted to become another burden on him. 

Towards the end of the night Bright finally decided it was time to wake Win up. Krist had stayed, mostly talking to Singto, so he hadn't bothered to wake Win from his much needed nap. Bright walked closer and sat beside Win on a chair and gently shook Win shoulder couple of times, but Win didn't woke up, then Bright leaned closer  to Win face and push his finger in Win soft hair few times, very gently caressing his scalp. Suddenly after few minutes Win groaned sleepily, then shot up open his eyes only to see Bright face closer to his. Bright quickly pulled his hand back from Win hair as Win realize that he had fallen asleep while talking to Krist. He started sleepily rubbing his eyes, then looked at Bright saying "Sorry ...", Bright noted that Win was stupidly cute when he was half asleep. Win added "....I fell asleep, didn't I?". Bright nods and chukled "It's alright. You were tired, so I'm glad you were able to rest a bit. We're going to close the Cafe  soon so... ".

Win  glance around and notice it was indeed empty "I should probably go, back home huh?". Bright agreed muttering "Soon... Yeah" while smiling softly. Suddenly Krist walk up to them both and inform that he's going to stay the night at Singto's, so Win can leave first without him. After saying Krist again went back to Singto while. Bright shake his head smiling while watching Krist back figure. Suddenly Win question "Are you going home after this?". Bright explain "Umm... I've to go to stop by the 24 hour store nearby and grab some groceries. It's easier to shop at this hour when no one's around". Win remember the incident happened long back but then he ask "Can I come with you?". Bright raised an eyebrow  causing Win to chukled and  explain awkwardly  "I remember... I need.. umm ... couple of things too". Bright giggle "I guess I don't have a problem to take you, but isn't it pretty late for you? Aren't you tired, Win?". Win shook his head and softly said "No, don't worry about me. Tommorow is Saturday I can sleep before heading to work in the afternoon. Besides, I just got a power nap so... It's alright. I'll wait outside for you, ok?". Bright nods. Win started walking towards the exit but Bright stopped him and ask "Win, its cold, so if you start freezing, just wait in the car. Here's the key". Win grabs the key and went ahead muttering "Sounds good".

Win said his good bye to Krist and Singto who were busy talking behind the counter. Then Win walked out of the Cafe. As Win exited Bright locked the main entrance and smile to himself. He made his way back into the Cafe kitchen to put back the pots and pans on its place. As he was working Singto nudged his shoulder this time and ask "Let me do that. You go on ahead". Bright muttered "Sing it's fine. I don't feel that bad today". Singto shake his head and teasingly said "No, but Win waiting for you, don't make him wait for long.... It's chilling outside. Even with a jacket on, it feels cold standing outside at this hour".  Bright flushed slightly as he explain "I told him to go on ahead and wait in the car if it's too cold". Mew interrupted "And you should know that that he's not going to leave you and wait inside the car ..... He's your little puppy dog glued to your side for forever".  Both Mew and Singto started laughing causing Bright groan "Stop teasing me you two about the fact".

Singto stated "Just take our kind gesture and leave early, tonight. You have to go to shop anyway, so might as well take advantage of this and get home earlier than you would". Bright finally agreed and grumble while taking off his apron "Alright, alright .... You two are dying for me to go back to Win, aren't you?". Mew stated "No, but it seems like things are going better between you two and We both are definitely happy to at least see that"..  Bright sigh and announced "Okay then I'm leaving" and walk out from the back door making sure to locked it behind him. Bright walked over to the front of the Cafe and sure enough Win was standing, leaning on a nearby railing, keeping his hands inside his pocket. His nose was already pink due the chilling weather causing Bright to think Win is too devoted to him for his own good.
