The first thing Elina did was visit the bank where her gold bar was stored. She took all the correct paperwork and ID to prove who she was. Fifty-two thousand, three hundred and seventy-four pounds plus the seven pence made quite the heavy goldness shine from the bar belonging to her and Elina wanted this money along with her savings that now look like absolute nothing, to set her up for life.
She had the one kilogram bar divided equally making ten gold bars estimated in grams and had them stored into the family vaults that her dear mama had to sign over to Elina considering that she's the oldest twin. Juliette Von-Trapp had no other choice but to sign them over because she had Alzheimer's which was slowly festering away into Dementia.
It pained both Elina and Molly because not only had they lost their papa a year previous but every time they went to visit their mama, Juliette had no recollection to who they were. In the end, the Hooper sisters decided to visit her every two weeks. At least that way they were still seeing their dear mother but they weren't overwhelming the mentally unwell woman.
Despite everything though, Elina started to realise the truth behind Rudy's singular word that he seemed to always tell her, she had potential. By acknowledging that much it's when she in herself realised how many doors were left open for opportunities.
She was no genius compared to Sherlock Holmes who after two months of his uncle's death decided to start working as a freelance consultant to Scotland Yard, eventually seeing himself as a Consulting Detective and she was nowhere near the lines of intelligence that Mycroft Holmes thrived on but in her own way she had her own brilliance. She supposed that considering she held the genetic trait of singing opera like her mother once did, she was a brilliant mastermind when it came to smashing a wine glass for example, when she held a long soprano note. Molly Hooper was no fine mind compared to the Holmes brothers either but taking into account that her father was a brain doctor, she held a lot of brain capacity being promoted as the head pathologist in London and the youngest doctor throughout the country.
Elina did feel slow though. Her three hour younger sister had already found her place in the world that set her up for life but Elina couldn't find it in herself to find a job for instance that she would permanently enjoy. She knew she wouldn't be opposed to perhaps following in her mother's steps of being a refined opera singer but she craved action and longed for chilling adventure.
Rudy had once noticed how quick she was in performance when every Saturday before he became seriously unwell, they would visit high class places. Elina thought back to all those fun filled Saturdays where they would ballroom dance because according to him, a lady always needed to own the skill of waltzing just in case it ever came up in the future, boxing in the gym's ring because a lady always needed to know how to defend themselves in the world they lived in and she even enjoyed bird shooting now and then in a countryside just on the outskirts of London itself.
By doing these things with Rudy, Elina didn't realise until now how skilled she truly was in most aspects. What Elina wouldn't realise though, until four years later is that if she ever did consider applying to work for MI5, she would automatically have an opportunity to have an interview with Mycroft Holmes himself and in turn after the basic training, to replace Anthea and become his personal assistant in all areas.
