𝐖𝐄 𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐔𝐏 outside my house in the Twinkie. I hadn't been home for a few days, so I had to get some more clothes anyway since I always stayed with John B.

"Riley? You home?" I called out, entering my small house.

"Hayley?" She called out, embracing me in a hug once she saw me. My sister was my best friend. My favourite person. I really needed to see her after being apart for a few days, "I was worried about you Hales," She pulled away, but still held onto my biceps. "Why didn't you call?"

"Powers down." I reminded her. She nodded in response. "Riley, I need your help with something."

"Oh lord." She grimaced. "What have you done?"

"Nothing, um, JJ's dad needs him to get something that he left there. If he doesn't get it, he's gonna hit him again." I welled up some fake tears in my eyes. Normally, I wouldn't lie to her but I knew she wouldn't approve if I told her the truth. It was JJ's idea to come up with the lie in the first place and I knew my sister couldn't turn me down after that.

The older girl looked down sadly, contemplating her decision. She followed me into my room, where I was picking up some bikinis and more shorts. "Where are you going after you get that thing for Luke?" She asked.

I turned to look at her. "I don't know. Probably just go back to John B's."

She nodded in response, "I just feel like I barely see you anymore."

"Well, if you're staying at home tonight so will I," I agreed.

She nodded happily, "Sounds good. Let me go and get the keys for you."

We needed the key to open the gate for that underwater thing that JJ was saying about. "They're here." I followed her into her room as she picked up the keys that sat on her desk.

"Thanks, Riles. I'll see you later." I smiled.

"Be safe," She called out after I opened the front door to leave and ran up to the Twinkie.

"What took you so long?" John B questioned, as JJ pulled me into his side.

"Sorry," I apologised, "I had to get clothes."

"Did you get the key?" Pope asked to which I nodded in response, "I still don't have a good feeling about stealing this thing."

John B spoke up. "We're not stealing it, Pope. We're borrowing it."

"Humans are the only animal that can't tell fantasy from reality." He said.

I laughed. "Humans aren't animals."

The boy looked at me like I was stupid, but frankly, I didn't care. I didn't want to deal with his lectures over how he was so smart and I was the complete opposite. "Did you come up with that?" John B asked.

"Albert Bernstein came up with it, but it applies to this whole treasure-hunting thing." He informed us.

I lifted my head from the blonde's shoulder, "I thought it was Einstein." I said, confused.

"Hayley, that can't be a real question of yours." I shook my head, falling back into JJ, not having the energy for this. When he realised I wasn't going to say anything back to him, he turned back to John B in the front. "So, which is it? Fantasy or Reality?"

"Why are you so weird, Pope?" JJ said, rolling a blunt.

"It's fantasy, but a possible reality." Kie shrugged.

"Reality," JB smirked.

JJ flicked his lighter open. "Virtual reality." I hummed in agreement.

Pope snatched the blunt out of his fingers. "Keep the signal clear."

"Lord," I mumbled, jumping out of the van with Kie to go and flirt with the security guard.

"Hey, don't worry. You got this." John B encouraged, as I threw him the key.

Kie and I shared a smile. "Not us that we're worried about." I shrugged, motioning to the two boys in the back, bickering.

"Come on, Hales." She grabbed my hand, as we made our way to her car. The plan was to pretend we had a flat tyre, flirt with the guy, and leave. Perfect.

"Hello!" Kie waved. "Excuse me."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, he's definitely the sort of guy to want younger girls.

As the man saw us, he walked out, "Can I help you?"

Kie smiled, "Hi, we actually have a flat tyre. I was wondering if maybe you could help us out?"

"Yeah, let me get the stuff." He smirked at us.

"Too easy," Kiara smirked.

"Perv," I muttered.

After coming back out with the gear, we walked over to Kie's truck. "It's just this back one right here." She twirled her hair around her finger. "I mean, it must have been a slow leak or something."

"Probably just been sitting in the yard too long." He shrugged. "I got this."

"Thank you." I smiled, sweetly.

Suddenly, a dog started barking, catching our attention. "Do you hear that?" The guy asked us.

"Hear what?" Kie asked. Is she a fucking idiot?

He stood up. "I think Tebow's got something."

"It's probably just a raccoon, you know?" I told him, as he sat back down. "Nothing to worry about."

As he got back to work, I motioned for the key to go to the other side and let some air out of that tyre.

He looked up at me, "Where's your friend?" He asked, noticing that Kiara was gone. I scratched the back of my neck, not knowing what to say until he went around the other side.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"I think that one was a little low too." I nodded, but he wasn't listening as he ran after the dog that was barking.

"Shit."
