𝐖𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐃 the tape to put away Ward Cameron. I was on the edge of my seat as we drove to Tannyhill. Cop cars were everywhere as we followed them. Ward had been caught and I was so ready to see him get taken down.
"Can you please hurry? I need to be there for Wheezie." Sarah spoke worriedly for her little sister.
"You think I wanna miss this?" John B replied with a straight face.
The other blonde girl rolled her eyes as we all piled out of the van. My brother helped me over the wall as we ran to the building, "Sarah, what's going on? Why are the police here again?" Wheezie asked the girl as they embraced each other.
"Go inside. Don't come out." She told the girl shakily as we all ran to the dock where we assumed Ward would be.
We followed the Cameron girl as some of the officers tried holding us back, "You've gotta let us through." John B begged.
"That's Sarah Cameron. Let her through." Shoupe called out to them.
The officer unwrapped his arms from around my waist as I held onto JJ's arm for comfort.
"What are you doing here, Sarah?" Ward cried from his place on 'My Druthers'.
The girl frowned, "Dad, what are you doing?"
"Vic, you have to get her out of here. She can't be here right now." The older man yelled.
"Just come on in and you can talk to her." Shoupe said, trying to reason with the man, "Ward, this won't end the way you want it to. You don't need her seeing this."
"Sarah, I'm so sorry, baby. I can't." He cried as he turned on the engine for the boat. Police boats suddenly surrounded him as he ran inside his boat.
The blonde girl had tears streaming down her face now as she begged for her father to stay, "Please don't leave."
A gasp suddenly escaped my lips as the boat burst into flames, "Holy shit." I muttered. I was in so much shock that I couldn't fully comprehend what was happening.
The Maybank boy rubbed small circles on my back in an attempt to comfort me as I leaned back against his chest.
I completely forgot about the Cameron girl until I noticed Topper Thornton holding her while she cried.
