𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐃 suffocated by the weight of the routine, I had decided to stay at the Chateau with Kiara and Riley. The boys had left that morning to get to school but we decided to stay. Liv was already at the Kook Academy.

Sarah still hadn't shown up but we figured just to give her some time. It must have been hard when her father quite literally blew himself up in front of her face.

"So, you and Pope," I spoke up, "What's going on?"

The curly-haired girl sighed at the topic of conversation and parted her lips to speak, "I don't know. I just sort of feel like I'm forcing something that's not there."

I scoffed, "Kie, you can't keep leading him on like this. Olivia's right. If that's how you feel then you need to tell him."

She nodded, "I have, somewhat. I don't know." She huffed, "It's weird. All this crazy stuff is going on and I don't want to be worrying about this."

I rolled my eyes but nodded nonetheless when the boys entered the porch after school had ended, "Guys, this is from Denmark's diary." Pope spoke up as he sat down.

I frowned, "What? How did you get that?"

"Mr Sunn gave it to me." He explained, "Look, August 15th, set sail from Port-au-Prince on calm seas. Came upon the Spanish ship San Jose on fire. The entire deck was aflame. And we could hear the screams of men trapped below. The Spanish captain cared about only one thing, his valuable cargo, the Cross of Santo Domingo and countless bars of gold. Once the cargo was on board, we went to help the crew, but Captain Limbrey ordered us to pull bayonets and not to let any of the Spanish crew on board. He robbed them and left them to die."

The Heyward boy's words sent shivers down my spine as JJ spoke, "So it didn't go down off Bermuda."

Kiara rolled her eyes, "And it was a Limbrey stealing shit again."

"This diary proves that both the gold and the Cross of Santo Domingo were on the Royal Merchant." The boy next to me said.

The blonde boy frowned as he flicked his lighter, "Why didn't we find it in the well then? I mean, if Denmark was able to get this, like, bedazzled cross off of the Merchant to shore, why didn't he just hide it with the gold?"

"Because it was too big." John B guessed.

Pope nodded, "You're right. He had to hide it someplace else."

I frowned, "But where?"

"Right before he was hung, Denmark said he'd buried the treasure at the foot of the angel." The dark-skinned boy explained.
