𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆, JJ walked down the dock with me on his back as we approached the Pogues. Once we finally reached them, my legs unhooked from his waist and dropped to the floor.

The Heyward boy was sat before us as he figured out how to work the drone while John B and Kiara were in the water.

The blonde's arm wrapped around my shoulders, bringing me closer to him, "God bless geeks, Pope," JJ praised. "Truly man."

I smiled, "Yeah, what would we do without you to control the drones?"

The Heyward boy rolled his eyes as the two brunettes resurfaced, "It's not a drone, Hayley. It's an ROV." I shrugged in response not understanding what he was saying.

"Shut up," The blonde boy groaned. "It's too early for that right now."

"Hey," John B interrupted from the water. "Once we get footage of the wreck, we'll bring it to a lawyer in town and file a formal claim."

JJ frowned. "Why do we have to do that?"

"Well, there is maritime salvage laws. You can't just go to the ocean floor and scoop a bunch of stuff up." Pope told us.

"We know, Pope. We're not that stupid." I scoffed.

The Maybank boy shook his head, "I know it's just lawyers aren't cheap, bro."

"As soon as they see the footage, they'll work for a comp." John B shot back.

"How do you know all of that?" Kie questioned.

The brunette replied, "My dad said it, like, a million times."

I shrugged, helping Kiara out of the water. "That's fair."

"This tether is, like, really long," Pope informed us. "In the wrong weather, it could get pushed around."

"So, just go at dead calm," I told them like it was obvious. As if on cue, the sound of thunder rang through my ears.

"A slack tide?" Kie said.

"Right," Pope spoke. "So now, we just gotta wait around for the right weather." He looked up at the sky, noticing the dark clouds. "Today is not that day."

"Hey, Hales." John B called out to me, climbing up the ladder. "Can you help me figure out this map?" He asked.

I muttered, "Sure."

The rest of the group parted ways so John B and I sat outside the Chateau with the map placed on the table in front of us.

The boy examined it closely but I brought my knees up to my chest and closed my eyes tiredly.

"It's your turn." The voice of Sarah Cameron approaching us snapped me up.

"What the fuck?" I mumbled, confused as to what the blonde was doing outside his house.

"For what?" John B asked, equally as clueless.

"To ask me what I'm doing here." She said to my best friend like it was obvious, hand on her hip.

"What are you doing here?" I asked for him, getting impatient.

"I didn't get a chance to respond the other day after your friend here spat in my face and yelled at me, then stormed off like a child." I laughed. I had heard about this encounter. "So, first of all, I'm not a liar."

I cut in, "I beg to differ."

Sarah shrugged, "I don't know how Ward found out about the scuba gear, Hayley. I swear it was not me." She turned back to John B, "I'm not the reason you got fired."

I scoffed as John B just shrugged, watching the girl's retreating figure. "What the fuck just happened?"

The boy only sighed heavily as he turned back to the work in front of him, "I think tomorrow would be a good day to go looking for the Wreck."

I sent him an apologetic look, "Sorry, can't. I told Riley I'd see her."

He scoffed, "Are you joking? You're telling me that you can't be there to go and look for gold because you need to spend time with your sister."

"It's fine," I shrugged, "You go without me."

"You sure?" He asked.

I nodded, "Speaking of, I should get going. Good luck." I smiled, kissing the top of his head and heading home.
