𝐈 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐀 peck to my boyfriend's cheek from my place on his lap. We were all sat waiting in Heyward's truck as Kie told her parents that we were going to Charleston.

Distant yells were heard from inside the property and I mentally cringed. "They're taking it really well." The blonde boy spoke up sarcastically. "How'd you get this rig? I know your old man didn't let you have it." He said to the dark-skinned boy.

"I undid the intake valves on the carburettor. Made it start pinging." He replied. I didn't understand a word of what they were saying so I kept my eyesight out the window.

JJ smiled, "And now you're gonna take it to your cousin Jeff's house. Just gonna get it fixed. Crash overnight."

I smirked, "I think J's rubbing off on you, Pope."

My brother nodded, "Lying to your old man and stealing his truck." He listed. "Sounds familiar. All right, that's a sore subject. My bad." He said when he saw his friend's expression.

Pope nodded, "I'd say we have about eighteen hours before he absolutely loses his shit. So as long as we get it back before then, I think we're good."

Liv climbed out of the truck when she saw Kie approaching with her parents still arguing with her, "Good to see you, guys." She smiled politely.

"I promise to have her back at a reasonable hour and safe." The Heyward boy smiled to which I rolled my eyes at.

Kie frowned, "What are you doing?"

"Kiara, listen to me. If you wanna go, then you can go. But if you don't come back at a proper time, then don't come back at all." Her mother yelled.

"She's bluffing." Riley nodded towards the girl in hopes of making her feel better but she only climbed into the truck without saying a word. "Have a good day." Liv waved to them.

I climbed into the vehicle and sat on my boyfriend's lap in the back. "This shit would be so much easier without parents." She said with an eye roll. I looked down, not knowing what to say. I would give anything to have my mom back.

𝐖𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐀𝐋𝐋 got on the ferry and Kie was telling us what her parents were arguing wirh her about. "My parents are so paranoid of me being a Pogue like it's the worst thing that could ever happen." She rolled her eyes.

"Hey, I hear they got good weed at boarding school, though," JJ spoke up. The girl's parents were threatening to send her away.

"I'm not going to boarding school." She denied. "They're gonna have to kidnap me, tie me up, and throw me in a van."

JJ smiled, "Well, I say we just crumble some herb right now." He said, handing her a joint which she happily took.

"Kie, have you tried to hit John B back on that number yet?" Riley questioned.
