𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐉𝐎𝐇𝐍 𝐁 had been caught, I was standing beside Riley on my left and JJ on my right in the courtroom. The blonde rubbed comforting circles over my knuckles, stopping my hands from shaking. It pissed me off so much to see John B up there for a murder he didn't commit.

Big John used to tell us that it's best to never say you've hit rock bottom. Trust me, he said. You can always go lower. And the thing is about hell there is always another one below.

"John Booker Routledge, pursuant to the North Carolina statue section 14, you are charged with murder in the first degree with aggravated circumstances. If convicted, the maximum sentence would be the death penalty." The Judge spoke up.

The courtroom erupted in conversation as my heart felt as if it had just broken into millions of pieces. "Your Honour, he's seventeen." JJ spoke up as he rose from his seat, "Are you kidding me? John B we're gonna figure it out."

"John B." I cried as I tried to lunge for the boy as he was being taken away. The brunette boy turned around with a reassuring smile on his face. I had tears streaming down my cheeks as a deputy pushed me back.

Riley scoffed as he reached for me protectively, "Stop. Don't touch her." She yelled. "Come on, Hayley. Let's just get out of here."

The Maybank boy leant his hand on my lower back as he escorted me out of the courtroom. The Kooks were muttering shit under their breaths but I paid them no mind.

"Is this a joke?" Kie scoffed.

"We should have never come home." Sarah sobbed. She was taking this equally as hard as I was.

Pope frowned, "They're gonna kill him, guys. I know it."

I rolled my eyes, "Shut up." It was definitely not the sort of thing I wanted to be hearing right now.

"Thank God the system works." I heard a Kook say. I scoffed at his words.

"Can you shut up?" I yelled over at the man who said it to Ward, "Of course, you think the system worked because it was made to protect you and people like you."

The Kook spoke up calmly, "He will have his day in court. A jury will decide."

"He shouldn't even be in court." I shot back.

"You should," Kiara added in as she pointed to the Cameron man. "You're a murderer. You have a lot of nerve showing up to court."

Shoupe seemed to have noticed the commotion as he walked over to the scene, "I understand you're upset, okay?" Ward spoke up, "He's got you all fooled."

"No, I'm not just upset." The Carrera girl yelled as she went to lunge for the boy but was held back. The last thing we needed was for Kie to get locked up with John B.

The blonde boy rolled his eyes, "Why don't you take the Kooks down for a change, Shoupe?"

"Do you wanna get arrested?" He warned, "Get out. You need to go."
