*Ciel's POV*

After a while, class was finally over as Crewel began to tell us what our homework was and when it was due. Then Ace, Deuce, and Grim ran out of the door as if they were in a rush after Crewel allowed us to leave. I heard Crewel mutter under his breath about them as I was leaving the classroom. I decided to go see what they were doing and see why they are so nervous in the first place, might be due to the scores probably. In a couple of minutes, I was able to find them standing in front of the list of the top fifty, I walked up to them to take a look took.

"Okay, where am I in the top fifty?" Grim questioned as he was looking through the list

"Calm down, Grim... I don't know why you're so worked up for." I stated as I looked for my name.

"With an average score over 90, we've gotta be in there, right?" Ace stated as Deuce nods

"First ten places...nope. Twenty...nope. Forty-eight, forty-nine, fifty...nope. Wait a minute-I ain't in here at all!" Grim exclaims

"N-neither am I..." Deuce said in disbelief

"Hooold up. There's a list of the total scores each top achiever got across all subjects. The top thirty scored perfect marks—500 points!" Ace shouts in shock.

"PERFECT MARKS?!" Deuce and Grim exclaims

"Something's definitely fishy here, right? Can thirty students really ace every tests?" I questioned in a serious tone.

'Well... Except for someone I know.'

"B-but if I don't make it into the top fifty, that counts as a breach of contract!" Grim shouts, which caused me, Deuce, and Ace to look at him.

"Grim, what do you mean by 'contract'?" I stated with a dark look as Grim looks away in fear

"Wait, 'contract'? Oh no. Grim, did you...?" Ace said in shock, same with Deuce.

"Judging by the look on your face, Ace, don't tell me you also-"

But before Deuce could finish what he was going to ask, there was a bright light that flashed for a bit, surprising us. Then after a couple of seconds, a sea anemone suddenly sprouted from the trio's heads. My eye widen in shock as the trio began to panic at what had just happened.

"MYAH! What in the world?! A sea anemone just sprouted outta my head!" Grim cries out in horror

"G-Grim, you made a contract too?! You big cheater!" Deuce exclaims

"Yeah, whatever, Deuce. You're just as guilty, keepin' your friends close and your anemones closer over there!" Ace counters

"I'll just give it a quick tug, and...OW! It's not comin' out!" Grim tried pulling out the anemone but to no prevail.

"Bloody hell, what's going on here?! What did you three do!" I demanded, very shock and disappointed.

"I came to see what all the commotion was. Why am I not surprised it's you guys? What're you doing?"

We turned to see that it was none other than Jack, who looks a bit confused, walking towards us. He stops in front of us with a frown and his arms crossed, waiting to hear what we have to say about the trio's panic. From what I can see, he didn't have a sea anemone on his forehead like the trio did, meaning he didn't make a 'contract'. It took me a bit to put two and two together that the sea anemone is related to the 'contract' that was mentioned earlier. Which the word 'contract' left a bad taste in my mouth for some reason.

"Jack, did you make a contract too? Wait... You don't have an anemone!" Deuce questions

"So much for looking like a bad boy. You're more of a square than Loosey-Deucey over here!" Ace stated as Deuce glares at him

"I think it's because he didn't get into this 'contract' like you three did." I stated with a stern look on my face.

"Okay, what? I'm completely lost here. What are you talking about, and what are those things growing outta your heads?" Jack asked, looking at the trio as I sigh

"That's what I want to know..."

"Look, it's uhhh... MROW?! What now? This dang anemone's yanking my head!" Grim cried out as it was trying to make him go somewhere.

"Owww, geez! It's gonna rip my noggin off!" Ace's anemone was doing the same

"So when he wrote 'absolute obedience,' this is what he meant..." Deuce cried out as his anemone was doing the same too.

'He? So they went to some someone for this contract?' I thought to myself as the three cried out.

"AaaAAAaaaAGH!"

Then the three proceeds to go in a different direction as the sea anemones were pulling them to go. I also saw that there were a few other students with sea anemones being pulled into the same direction as the trio. They were crying out from pain and fear as those who didn't have sea anemones watched in confusion and shock. Me and Jack could only do was watch the trio and infected students going somewhere against their will. After a bit, me and Jack looked at each other, trying to figure out what to do next.

"What now? The way they were walking, it was like the anemones were pulling them in that direction. Is a picture that stupid still worth a thousand words...?" Jack questioned in surprised, still processing what happened.

"We'd better follow them if we want to get to the bottom of this." I suggested as Jack looked confused.

"Huh? Where do I come in here? This is none of my business."

"Still sore from your Spelldrive injuries or are you scared?" I asked, which made him flinch as he sighs

"Who're you calling a coward? Tch. You're starting to fit in around here a little TOO well. Fine. I'll keep you company for a little while, at least. Let's get this straight, though—this is purely out of curiosity. I wanna see what caused this. I couldn't care less about those guys. Just so we're clear on that." Jack stated sternly as I just smiled at him.

"If you say so."

Jack shakes his head with a sigh as we began to follow after the students by using the sound of their screams and pleas. But Jack told me that we must remain quiet as to not be heard just in case of any trouble, despite us following for different reasons about the situation. Jack was wanting to see what had caused this to happen and why they made that mistake. While I wanted to see the person responsible and what this 'contract' is all about. Though I still wanted to know one thing that has been on my mind when the sea anemones first appeared.

'What did those three get themselves into now...'
