*Ciel's POV*

We continued to fighting but it was hard since the twins moved much quicker since they were currently in their mermen forms and we're underwater. It also doesn't help that Ace, Deuce, and Grim were missing their shots. This meant the twins are doing something to cause this but I didn't know how considering I didn't see them use a spell other than attacks. I couldn't think straight as the attacks just kept coming and I began to grow tired as my lungs began to burn. I look at the others, who were struggling as Deuce was about to attack once more.

"Come forth, ice! HYAH!" Deuce shouts as he sent an ice attack at Floyd but it misses.

"Might wanna try upping the ante there, bud." Floyd teased him

"Hey, Deadeye Deuce, here's an idea: try actually HITTING with one of those shots! Hyah!" Ace shouts as he launches another attack at the twins but it misses too.

"Well you should do the same if you plan to scold Deuce, Ace!" I shout at them as I slashed at Floyd.

"Heh heh heh. Come, now. Put in some effort." Jade teases Ace

"I don't see you doing any better over there!" Deuce states as he glares at the red head.

"No way. How could I miss like that..." Ace states in disbelief

"Bloody hell?! Now my slashes are missing!" I exclaims as one of my attacks missed.

"Tch. Step aside. I'll handle this! RAGH! What?! My spell swerved before hitting them! I see what's goin' on..." Jack trails off in realization after some of his attacks missed.

"Could it be that..." My eyes widen, catching on to what Jack is suggesting.

"At least Sea Urchin and Little Shrimpy knows how to pay attention." Floyd states, impressed as both him and Jade stops attacking.

"I shouldn't be surprised that a land beast and Phantomhive has a keen eye." Jade said to himself.
"Since I'm a nice guy, I'll do you a solid and explain why none of your spells are hitting us. I've got this signature spell, Bind the Heart, see? It's a handy little number that interferes with your magic to ensure it fails! Ain't that just neato?" Floyd explains with a smile

"That ain't 'neato' at all! It's cheatin', is what it is!" Grim exclaims

"Yeah, it kinda does seem like cheating..." I stated as I quickly put my sword back into it's scabbard.

"*sigh* Floyd, do you really have to spell out your entire signature spell gimmick to them?" Jade states with a sigh.

"What's the big deal? Knowing isn't gonna help 'em any." Floyd argues but I smirk inside my mind.

"Fair enough. At least your magic is in good form today. If only you could be more consistent about it. When you're not in the mood, it never works at all. That's rather hard to plan around, you know." Jade teased us.

"Better run, kiddos! If I catch you, my tailfin's gonna wring you out like a dirty dishrag! Now, who should I squeeze first...?" Floyd questions

"Uh... No thanks..." I stated as I back away.

"This is nothin' more than a game to them. If we don't get outta here, they're gonna hang us out to dry!" Jack exclaims as I was placed onto his back again.

"Time for a temporary retreat!" I shout to the others as the group begins to swim away.

'We'd better work out a new plan!'

"Aha ha! Come back as many times as you want. It won't make a lick of difference! With those sorry legs of yours, you'll never outswim mermen." Floyd laughs

"We'll be waiting for your next visit." Jade states with a smile

"Rgh, this stinks! I'll remember this, okay?!" Grim exclaims.

We quickly swam away, well mainly the others as I was holding onto Jack tightly, to get away from the twins and the museum. I looked behind us to see that the twins weren't chasing after us instead they just smiles. I shake my head as we returned to where we started and used the mirror to get back to the school. Once we got there, I got off of Jack's back as the four were panting from swimming for so long. That was when I noticed that we were breathing normally which meant the potion had ended but we were still panting while I was panicking.

"*Huff, huff* You guys okay?" Deuce asked us as he catches his breath

"I think so..." Ace said while panting.

"I'll be okay..." I said as I began to calm down.

"I wasn't expecting them to actually be mermen..." Jack stated as I looked at him.

"I don't think any of us were, Jack."

"It was almost a feedin' frenzy there—with us as the chum! Swimmin' that fast ain't fair!" Grim groans as Ace looks at him.

"Well, yeah. Merfolk are literally in their element underwater."

"But we gotta get that photo fast, or they're gonna confiscate Ramshackle Dorm..." Grim counters

"We need to rework out plan here." Deuce informed us

"Well... I suggest we get some information from others, that way we can come up with a better plan to get passed the twins." I suggested as the others nods in agreement.

"Yeah. Cater likes to say he's got his finger on the pulse of the community, so why don't we get some input from him?" Ace suggested as Jack nods

"It'd also be a good idea to go back to Savanaclaw and see what Ruggie and the others have to share."

"That sounds like a good plan, we'll meet up later and discuss what we found out." I inform the group.

We split up into two groups, Ace and Deuce returning back to Heartslabyul to talk with Cater to get some information. While me, Jack, and Grim made our way back to Savanaclaw to talk to the others since they seem to be familiar with the twins. As we we're walking I was deep in my mind while Grim was complaining to Jack about what happened. I was thinking to myself about the fail plan to get the photo but I wasn't upset by it. In fact, it was only the beginning as I smirk in my head.

'The plan may've failed but I have yet to move a piece.'
