*Ciel's POV*
We continued to quietly, as to not get caught, follow after the infected trio to see what's going on. Luckily no one paid us any mind as the students they were more confused by some sea anemones on the the trio and a couple of other students' head. Which made me confused on just how many people has sea anemones. But I knew that if I want my answer, I have to follow after the trio, and maybe scold them afterwards. After a while of following, we ended up in the Hall of Mirrors
"Oh, it's the Hall of Mirrors... The place that leads to every dorm." Jack stated
"Yeah, but why here?" I questioned
That when I noticed that there were a large group of students crowding in front of one of the mirrors. The group ranged from freshman to juniors along with each of them being from different dorms. I saw that just like Ace, Deuce, and Grim, they all have sea anemone's on their heads and pulling them towards the mirror. They seem to be talking with one another in fear, anger, as sadness. Curious, me and Jack gotten closer to hear what they were talking about but not close enough to be noticed.
"I was so sure I'd make the top fifty!" A Heartslabyul student cried out
"Blast it all, I've been had! That cheating cephalo-punk!" A Savanaclaw student shouts in anger.
"My school life is doomed now. Doooomed!" A Scarabia student exclaims in fear
"Huh? It's not just the three stooges... There are other students here with sea anemones coming outta their heads. I'm seeing some sophomores and juniors in here, too. And they're all going through the mirror leading to Octavinelle Dorm." Jack stated as each of the students enter through the mirror.
"They're all moaning about their test placement... But, who's this 'cheating cephalo-punk' they're talking about?" I stated as Jack looked at me for a bit, before looking back at the mirror
"Let's head over and see what's up."
We waited until all of the infected students had entered the mirror before we followed through, the mirror was a rectangle shaped with tentacles of an octopus around it. We exited the mirror as we looked in awe, the dorm was like a white purplish temple combine with a castle, there were tall pillars with what seems to be a transparent white fabric wrapped around them. The pathway looked to be made of rock with some cracks in it. There was a tower nearby that had a shell at the top with a tentacle wrapped around it and hanging at the end of it was the dorm's banner. Long sea weed flowed upwards as rocks surrounded the dorm, but what took me and Jack by surprised was the fact the dorm was underwater.
"Wow, the whole dorm is underwater!" I gasp out in awe at the sight
"For real?! Night Raven College is so cool!" Jack exclaims before I remembered why we were here to begin with.
"Um... We should focus on the situation."
"*Ahem* Just remember we're treading on another dorm's turf. Keep your wits about you." Jack warned me as I nod.
"Got it."
We continued to follow after the sounds of painful cries and angry shouts coming from the infected students. We were being lead to a building that was near the dorm as I looked around me as I saw aquatic life swimming around. I still don't know how me and Jack were breathing underwater but I question that later. We got to the doors of the strange building as Jack opened the door as the students were walking into another area. I couldn't help but be in awe at the sight.
'I think we found where the Anemone Gang all went...' I thought to myself as I looked at the amount of people present.
"Look at all these people..."
"There's gotta be a hundred-no, closer to two hundred people here. What is this place, anyway? Some kinda coffee shop? 'Mostro Lounge'? Where did Ace and the others go?" Jack questions as we looked for them.
Before I could answer, I heard a familiar voice coming from somewhere nearby which caused me to freeze up a bit. Jack must've heard as well as I saw his ears began to move around to locate the source. We quietly followed the voice as we were lead into a big room with tables and surrounded by lavish couches, on each table was lamps that was shaped like sea rocks with the light bulbs being orb like, there were a few chandeliers that were sculpted like octopuses. There was also a bar like area nearby with different jars drinks on the shelves behind the bar table that had lavish spinning chairs mounted on the ground. And in the back was a window showing the outside to a beautiful view of the sea bottom that had coral, sea rocks and jellyfishes.
Jack quickly lead us behind one of the couches as we peaked from behind and saw the infected students standing in front of Azul. Azul was smiling as the sea anemone kept the students from moving.
"Well, well. What have we here? A band of misfortunate souls who failed to break into the top 50. Welcome to the Mostro Lounge. I'm sure you're all WELL aware of who I am, but let's go over it again anyway. My name is Azul Ashengrotto. I am the housewarden of Octavinelle Dorm, the manager of the Mostro Lounge cafe, aaand...as of today, you have to listen to everything I say." Azul announces, shocking me and Jack
"Say what?" Jack whispers
"From what I can guess, this must be related to that 'contract' the three were talking about earlier." I whisper back as we watched the scene unfold.
"You made a bet with me, and subsequently lost. As per terms of our contract, you are to devote yourself to my service until such time as you graduate." Azul informs the infected students
"Hey, hold on. This is all a huge scam!" Ace exclaims in anger
"You're...Ace Trappola, a freshman, if memory serves. Your accusations are insulting, frankly. I upheld my end of the bargain and provided you with an impeccably flawless study guide for your exams. If you used it properly, you should have scored at least a 90." Azul stated
"Yeah, and I did. I got a 92!" Ace counters as Azul smiles
"Why, that's wonderful news! I'm delighted to have been of service."
"But you never told me you'd given the same study guide to this many other people!" Ace shouts as Deuce nods in agreement.
"Yeah, Ace is right. No study guide could help us break into the top fifty when the deck's this stacked!"
"When everybody else is scorin' over 90, even with my 85, my spot in the rankings is no different than when I was failin'!" Grim states, which made my eye roll
"Have you boys never heard of client confidentiality? 'I want an easy way to score high marks. I don't want to flunk out. I want to goof off until the night before the test...' All of you fools-I mean, gentlemen-had your own reasons for seeking my help with your finals." Azul reminded them.
'So he used their fear of failing to get them to make a contract with him...' I thought as I noticed he was gonna call them fools.
"Details such as who made a contract with me, what kind of contract it was, and why it was made... That's all privileged data. Who am I to divulge someone's personal information to a third party? I am a man of integrity, thank you very much. You will find this exact topic covered extensively in the non-disclosure agreement clause on page 127 of your contract. I simply abided by its terms." Azul states
"O-okay, then what happens to the fire magic I put up as collateral for the study guide?" Grim questioned as the other students nods.
"Y-yeah! And what about my water magic?" A Pomefiore student asked
"Give me back my signature spell!" A Scarabia student demanded.
"What's this? Have you really forgotten the terms of your contract? 'I will provide you with a final exam study guide. In exchange, you will leave one 'personal specialty' in my possession.'
'Should you earn a spot among the school's fifty highest achievers, your power will be returned to you...and I will continue to provide you with study guides for all exams until such time as you graduate." Azul reads out the contract to everyone
"'However, in the event that you do not earn a spot among the school's fifty highest achievers... you will act with absolute obedience to me until such time as you graduate.' As outlined in the contract, I now control every part of your beings down to every last hair on your heads. In other words, your powers are mine, to return or not as I please." He finishes as the others stares in shock.
"That ain't fair!" Ace cried out
"No wonder Grim and Ace weren't fighting with magic." I stated as I remembered the event before class before thinking.
'Though can you really leave your power with someone else?'
Then I heard the sound of movement besides me, I looked to see Jack quietly leaving from our hiding spot. On his face as the same look he gave Leona and Ruggie back when we confronted them moments before Leona blotted. I was very confused by his actions and worried on what he's gonna do next.
"Jack, what are you-" Jack motions for me to be quiet before looking at the students and Azul.
"Y'know, I've been listening to this whole spectacle...and ALL of you disgust me!"
This caused everyone to jump before turning around to see Jack standing there with a glare on his face. I continued to hide and wait till it's the perfect time to my myself known and see what's gonna happen next. Azul was very surprised to see Jack present as he didn't make a contract with him like the others. So, he was very curious as to why Jack was here as he stared at the boy with a frown. The students on the other hand, didn't know what to say as they stood there in shock and confusion.
"J-Jack?! What are you doing here?" Deuce questions in shock as I sigh.
'They got a lot of explaining to do.'
