*Ciel's POV*
After all of that, I was now outside of the Ramshackle dorm in my PJs as I was sitting by one of the trees. After dealing with Azul's overblot and making plans for tomorrow, me and Grim were given back our dorm as promised. Though we did have to wait a bit since they needed to clear out the belongings that was brought in. So me and Grim ate at Heartslabyul dorm, which I had to sit through another scolding since Riddle found out about my lack of sleep. And after that, we returned back to Ramshackle, Jack brought our stuff from Savanaclaw to our room.
"There's no place like home, and this is as close as I'll get to one in this world." I said to myself as I felt the cold winds.
'It's as decrepit as ever, but it's good to back.'
I look back at the dorm with a smile on my face, despite it's appearance on the outside compared to the inside, I loved the look. Though I guess it's because not only is this place under my care but I lived here for awhile now. But either way, I was glad to be back at the dorm and not having to be forced to share with others, besides Grim of course. I close my eyes as I listen to the sounds of wind as if it was a melody. I began to hum a small melody before opening my eyes again.
"Ah. You've returned."
I turn my head around to see that it was none other than Hornton standing next to me as he looked down at me. I gave him a smile before proceeding to stand up so it's easier to talk to him without hurting his neck. He gave me some space so I wouldn't accidently hit him in the process. Once I was on my feet, I turn to face him so I can listen to what he has to say since he seems to have something on his mind every time we meet. Though I didn't mind, it was nice to talk with someone outside of my friend group every once in a while.
"Who would have ever expected you to win a bet with Ashengrotto? For as doe-eyed as you look, you're quite the schemer." Hornton says with a smile, very impressed.
"Your advice got me there, Hornton. What you said about gargoyles was just the hint I needed." I state which made him confused.
"Really? I wasn't trying to offer some cryptic clue or the like. Heh. In any case, I'm glad to know this garden will remain nice and quiet. Ashengrotto's calm features contorting in frustration must have been quite the sight. Would that I could have been a fly on the wall." Hornton states, before I could say more, there was a noise coming towards us.
"Mm... It seems I had best be returning to my dorm now. I bid you good night." Hornton says with a small smile.
Then there was a flash of light before it fades away, same for the fireflies, as I saw that Hornton was no longer here. I was confused by this, not because of how he leaves but rather why he left so soon. He usually talks with me for a while before he leaves to return back to his dorm to rest for the night. Could it be related to the noise that we both heard? Did that mean that Hornton wasn't allowed to be out so late? Then I see Sebek and Silver near the gate as they were both looking for something or someone.
"Well? Is he here?" Silver inquires
"No, I don't believe he's present in the vicinity." Sebek response as Silver began thinking.
"Perhaps he's near the western schoolhouse."
"How could you go on an excursion unescorted?! This is your fault for taking your eyes off of him, Silver!" Sebek scolds him
"He's not a baby. Personally, I think you're worried to an inordinate degree." Silver counters
"It won't be so inordinate if something happens to him. You must never relax, even for a second!
Or do you not understand the gravity of your duty as guardsman?! You are lucky that he and Lilia took you in and raised you despite your humanity. Don't you dare forget it!" Sebek explains as Silver sighs.
"*sigh* I think we're getting off track..."
The two quickly ran off as they continue to their search without knowing my presence, well except for Silver who gave me a quick wave. I waved back with a smile as they ran off before I let out a sigh with a sweatdrop. Those two are quite confusing from what I saw from their interaction but I shouldn't judge just yet since I don't know them well enough. But who were they looking for exactly? They seem to have been in a panic, well Sebek was. So it must be someone important or someone that shouldn't be left out of sight.
"Are they looking for a lost child?"
I shake my head before going back inside as to not catch a cold since I still had plans for tomorrow and I didn't want to miss them. I take off my shoes at the entrance, which was a manner I was taught by Crowley, then went to my room. Once I enter the room, I heard a voice coming from my bed. I look to see that it was just Grim, who was fast asleep at the foot of the bed. I smiled as he began talking in his sleep once more, at first it was a little annoying but now I'm use to it.
"Aaah... Now that's a whopper of a fish... I can't eat all that...*Purr* Mrow..." Grim says in his sleep, which makes me chuckle before yawning.
"What an exhausting day..."
But before I could climb into bed and get some rest, there was a light coming from behind me that caused me to freeze. Though Grim wasn't affected as he continue to snore and talk in his sleep. I turn around to see what could be causing the light since there is no one here at the moment and last I check the ghosts can't make light. Unless they can but doesn't show it, or maybe it depends on the type of ghost. Though thankfully I found the source to be coming from the mirror, which was surprising since it hasn't done this before since a while ago.
"Hm...? The mirror's glowing. Is this another dream?" I question as I looked a bit closer
"...lo? ...ear me? Is... anybody there?" A faint voice called out.
'I hear a voice from the mirror...' I thought to myself with wide eyes.
Then the light faded along with the mysterious voice, leaving me in darkness as I began to process what I had just witness. I quickly touch the mirror to see if it might trigger something but it didn't do anything. All it did was show my reflection and the room, like any normal mirror around here does. I then step backwards as I turn my head to see if maybe Grim heard the faint voice but he was still asleep. I look back at the mirror once more as I was left in confusion, despite processing the information, before I spoke out loud but not enough to wake Grim.
"What...just happened?"(Sorry for not updating, I lost internet at my home so I had to wait until it got fixed. ;w; )
