*Ciel's POV*
"I'd start by brainstorming a way to shred the contract document itself." Leona suggested
"But it's invulnerable!" Grim exclaims as Jack nods in agreement.
"*sigh* We don't know if that's true..." I stated with a sigh as Leona nods in agreement
"*sigh* You guys are seriously peabrained."
"You're like a scammer's dream come true." Ruggie said
"Mrah?!" Grim cries out in shock.
"Let's start with the basics. Why would you take Azul at his word when he said his contract was 'completely unbreakable'?" Ruggie questions
"What? I mean, none of our attacks did a thing to it..." Jack states as Ruggie smirks
"Have you considered the possibility that was an on-the-spot demonstration put on as a bluff?"
"!!!" Jack was taken aback before I thought about even more."That's true, people will say things but there is a chance they could be lying. So that way no one will try anything." I stated, which made the other housewarden nod
"All magic's got a loophole. Remember that pampered little redhead Riddle's signature spell and how it sealed magic? It seemed unbeatable at first, but it still had a weakness. Even the best magicians can't sling spells willy-nilly. So the idea that Azul's golden contract from It's a Deal is indefinitely unbreakable...is preposterous. Flat-out." Leona explains.
"So there's a way to beat it after all. Challenging the Leech brothers underwater is a losin' proposition, no matter how you slice it. We'd be better off trying to find a chip in the contract scroll's proverbial armor on land instead. I see what you're gettin' at. I dunno, though. That sounds an awful lot like playing dirty." Jack said, unsure
"Come on, Jack... Your principles are great and all, but you guys already took a fair shot against Azul and his boys on land. Remind me again how that went?" Ruggie stated with a disappointed look as Jack looked away.
"Rgh..."
"They do have a good point, Jack. While I don't like playing dirty, it might be our best shot." I stated as I pat his back.
"Let's be clear here: these guys are scoundrels that swindle doe-eyed herbivores and take them for everything they've got. Why should you play fair when they don't? So what if it's underhanded? So what if it's taking the fight off the playing field? As long as the contract is annulled, you win. End of story." Leona states
"Oooh, that's our Leona! The duke of dirty plays; the tyrant of technical fouls!" Ruggie stated with a smirk as I looked at him in shock.
'Was any of that supposed to be a compliment?!' I then look at Leona, who was smirking.
"You haven't learned anything from last time, have you?"
"Hey, it's like I said before. I do whatever it takes to win."
"Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, huh? Fine. Let's spend the next two days staking Azul out and looking for our chance to shred that contract scroll!" Jack states with an determined glare
"We're all in this together!" I said with an awkward smile.
'So we're stalkers now. Great.'
"Well, good luck with that, froshes." Leona states
"Whaaa?! After all that talk, you're not gonna help us?" Grim exclaims
'I'm not surprised.' I thought with a smile.
"Why should I? I practically wrote the answer for you in crayon already. You guys can figure the rest out yourselves. Later." Leona informs us as he got up from his seat and walks off.
"On that note, I'm out too. Good luck, guys!" Ruggie said before following after Leona.
"Th-that's just heartless!" Grim cries out, before I could say anything, my stomach growled a bit.
"We should get something to eat... I'm starving..."
The two nods as Jack leads me and Grim to the kitchen to see what we can have since we missed dinner. As were were looking for some food, I couldn't help but smirk a bit as I thought of what Leona told us. He was a huge help and he didn't even need to act, which he wasn't gonna use, since he was actually panicking. But this helped him make some adjustments to his second plan that he has up his sleeves. But first, he needs to test out that theory before he gets ahead of himself.
'Thanks for the advice, Leona. You will be an important piece later.'
*With Leona and Ruggie, Third POV*
Leona and Ruggie were walking through the hallway after talking with the trio on what they should do next. Ruggie was pretty surprised that Leona had given them some very good advice earlier. After all, Leona wasn't the type of person to do such a thing since he doesn't like doing things that took effort outside of classes and spelldrive. Ruggie looked at Leona with his arms behind his head and saw tiny bit of concern in Leona's eyes. Ruggie smirks in his head a bit before speaking, causing Leona to look at him.
"Wow, Leona. It's not every day I see you offering such useful advice." Ruggie states
"Oh yeah?" Leona questions as Ruggie nods.
"For all your talk, you've got a soft spot for those underclassmen, don't you?"
"Hah. Don't make me laugh. If I play my cards right, I can use those chumps to learn that cephalo-punk's weakness without lifting so much as my pinky finger. Not that I'm holdin' my breath or anything." Leona states but Ruggie has a feeling Leona is partially lying, which made him smirk a bit.
"Ahhh, I getcha. That's real slick, Leona."
*Meanwhile in Octavinalle Dorm's lounge*
"What? Ciel met with Leona?"
Azul was sitting on one of the couches in the lounge, looking through the reports and money they made at the Mostro Lounge. But while he was looking through them, the twins enter the room with smiles. To outsiders, they would think that they came to bother Azul, but Azul knew why they were there. To give him the report of the observation on Ciel and his whereabouts that he requested. Which lead to this situation as Azul stood from his seat after hearing the report givien to him.
"Yes, sir. The contractor appears to have taken up temporary residence at Savanaclaw." Jade informs him
"Ah, I see. That's...somewhat unexpected." Azul with an uncertain tone.
Azul became silent as he began to think about what he should do next with this new piece of information he received. He knew what Leona was capable of and how he was spared from the contract thanks to his manipulative, calculating, nature and a bit from Ciel and his friends part. He still found it hard to believe that someone like Ciel was able to befriend strong individuals like Riddle and Leona. Not to mention despite the boy's amnesia, he was quite smart and calculating then one would think. Which means he had to be careful because one wrong move will make him lose everything.
"What's our play here? Do I give him the squeeze?" Floyd questions, excited at the thought of wiping off Leona's smirk but Azul shakes his head.
"No. We can let the Leona matter go." This caused the two to be taken aback.
"Wouldn't it be better to nip this in the bud swiftly? He would be a troublesome man to have as an enemy." Jade questions, curious as to what Azul is planning.
"He's a lazy lion at heart. He doesn't believe in sticking his neck out for others or seeking trouble. I concur with your view that he would be troublesome to have as an enemy, but rivalry is a two-way street. He wouldn't dream of making an enemy out of me by choice." Azul explains, very overconfident
"So you would prefer to let sleeping lions lie for the time being. All right. Understood." Jade states with a smile.
"Aw, maaan... I really wanted to wipe that smug grin off his face, too." Floyd whines with a pout as Jade chuckles
"Just keep up your surveillance for now, thanks." Azul orders with a serious look, the twins bows with smiles.
"Yes, sir. / Will do!"
