"I know I'm gonna sound insane,"Ezekiel said as he watched their fingers intertwine and pull away, then intertwine again.
"What is it?"Adela questioned.
"Let's get married."
Her hand stopped and she glanced up at him.
"Are you sure? Where's this coming from?"she questioned with a confused frown forming on her face.
"I just.. We have forever ahead of us and I've already lost so many years with you,"he said and sat up.
"There's nothing more to lose, is there?"
She sat up and brought the duvet up to her chest as she brought her knees up. She gave it a hard and long thought.
"Why don't I give you some time to think about it?"he caressed her cheek with his hand and smiled warmly.
"Okay,"she said.
"I should go.. meet Damon,"she climbed off the bed and headed into the bathroom as the thoughts swirled in her head.
He laid his head back against the headboard and heaved out a sigh, fearing that he had scared her away.
"I think I'm gonna go check up on Alex,"he grabbed his shirt and pulled it over his head.
"Yeah, okay,"Adela said from the bathroom with the sound of the shower running.
He waited outside Alexandra's house after making a quick stop to his apartment to freshen up.
The door opened and Sierra glared at him, pushing her daughter behind her protectively.
"What are you doing?"Alexandra frowned and walked in front of her.
She stopped at the sight of Ezekiel and pulled her bag strap onto her shoulder.
"Come on, sweetheart. We're gonna be late for the memorial,"Jackson closed the door behind him and headed for the car without sparing a glance at Ezekiel.
Sierra grabbed Alexandra's hand and pulled her along.
"I'll join you in a moment,"Alexandra said and walked toward Ezekiel waiting on his motorcycle, pulling her hand out of her mother's hard grip.
"Alexandra Emma-"
"Let her,"Jackson stopped Sierra.
"If he wanted to kill her, he would've,"he said and gazed at Ezekiel with a look of trust and understanding.
Ezekiel shot him a small smile in gratitude and turned to Alexandra.
"You dyed your hair,"he said and pointed to her blonde head.
She nodded and shrugged it off.
"Needed a change after I came back from Beacon Hills,"she folded her arms.
"What are you doing here?"she questioned.
"Just checking up on you.. Haven't seen you in awhile,"he said.
"Yeah, I've been busy at school,"she nodded.
Her eyes avoided his and she heaved out a sigh.
"I should probably go, my dad's waiting,"she pointed at the car.
"We're going for the memorial Mayor Lockwood is hosting,"she rolled her eyes.
"My dad never cares about these kind of stuff."
"Yeah, no worries,"Ezekiel nodded.
"That's a nice bracelet."
She glanced down at the charm bracelet she'd worn since forever and smiled at the fond memory of it.
