"A ball? This is a ridiculous idea,"Ezekiel said as he sat down on the couch beside his sister.

"Rebekah, tell me how handsome I am,"Kol said, looking at her through the mirror as a tailor was on his knee making sure the pants were fitted well for him.

Another was attending to Finn.

"Oh, Kol, you know I can't be compelled,"Rebekah admired her nails as she answered him.

The door opened and slammed shut as Niklaus stormed into the home and neared her.

"You went after Elena? What is wrong with you?"he questioned.

"Here we go,"Rebekah heaved out a sigh and turned to him with a bored face.

"Can you blame her? A dagger was stabbed into her heart,"Ezekiel shrugged and leaned back on the couch.

"Do you want another one in your heart?"Niklaus threatened her.

"Again with the dagger threats?"Kol groaned and sat down on the high stool as he faced them, dismissing the tailor.

"Don't you have any other tricks?"he questioned.

"Go back to staring at yourself,"Niklaus briefly turned to him.

"And who are you? My father?"Kol scoffed.

"No, Kol, but you are in my house,"Niklaus retorted and neared him.

"Then perhaps we should go outside,"Kol stood to level his challenging gaze with Niklaus.

"We are almost like a normal, little happy family,"Ezekiel smiled and turned to Rebekah who rolled her eyes.

"Wouldn't you agree?"

"Enough!"Esther entered the room.

"Niklaus, come,"she called before she walked away.

Kol smirked smugly like a child as they watched Niklaus walk away, leaving them to themselves.

"Stop smiling like that,"Ezekiel frowned at him.

"Like what?"Kol questioned.

"Like a menace," Rebekah said.

"A menace?"Kol gasped.

"I'll be in my room,"he got up as the both of thek bickered and headed up the stairs to the new room where half of his things occupied.

It was safer that the rest of his things stayed where they were suppose to be - in his real home that he had built for himself.

He turned to the sound of his mother's steps walking into his room.

"Will you be bringing anyone to the ball?"she questioned.

He gave her a weak smile and shook his head.

"My wife... The woman that would've been my wife was compelled to rip out her heart by Nik,"he said.

"And now, I don't think I will ever love again,"he muttered.

"Oh, my boy,"she heaved out a sigh and her hand reached out for his cheek.

"I heard how you begged for your freedom to save Caroline... You will love again, I know it,"she smiled.

He shook his head and gently pushed her hand away.

"I don't want to,"his voice came out in a whisper as he remembered all over again the way Adela died.

"I have to do something,"he excused himself and walked out of the room.

His mother would've loved Adela. She was sweet, kind and beautiful. She had her charms and her smile was bright. She would've been his mother's second daughter, right after Rebekah.
