Adela jogged down the stairs with her towel wrapped around her body and her damp hair sticking against her bare back. She frowned at the sight of Elena with her brother by the door before her face fell with recognition.

"Get her the hell out of here,"she said and scoffed.

"Hello, Ella,"Katherine smirked.

"Miss me?"she questioned.

"Screw you,"Adela shook her head and flipped her the middle finger.

The last time she saw Katherine was when the woman was locked in a tomb, begging to be let out.

Adela promised she would come back, but she didn't and she couldn't.

Katherine wronged her brothers. She was the reason they were turned and Adela was forced to turn with them.

There will never be peace between them.

"I'm heading out,"Damon said as he grabbed his keys.

"Out where? With this bitch? No way,"she folded her arms.

"Anywhere with anyone but her,"she pointed at Katherine.

"I'll wait,"Katherine shrugged and walked out of the door with a smug look of victory as she glanced at Adela.

Adela turned to her brother.

"I've spend decades protecting you and Stefan from her return. Even when you searched everywhere to bring her back from the tomb, I was here to make sure you didn't repeat the same mistake of loving her again,"she said and pointed at his chest where his heart sat.

"You're not going."

"I wasn't asking,"Damon gave her a look and walked out of the door.

"And last I checked, I was your big brother,"he said.

"Damon, get back here,"she called out but he turned a deaf ear.

"Damon Salvatore!"

She walked toward the door to see him climb into the car with Katherine and the car drove out of her sight. She slammed the door in frustration and glanced around the empty home.

It was a Salvatore's trait to be stubborn.

Later that night, she knocked on Ezekiel's door before letting herself into the house. She felt his presence in the room and inhaled a deep breath as she prepared herself for what she was about to say.

She had made up her mind.

"I know we haven't been smooth lately... But I think I've made up my mind, Zeke,"she pushed open the door to his room and her face fell as she backed away.

Niklaus grabbed her hand and pulled her.

"Stay, love. Don't let me stop you, what have you made up your mind on?"he smiled and batted his eyes at her.

"Speak,"he compelled.

"I've decided that I love him and I want to marry him,"she blurted out no matter how hard she tried to fight it.

His eyebrows shot up in surprise but his lips curled into a wider smile.

"Now, isn't this lovely?"he gasped.

"Why don't we give him a little surprise?"he suggested and she knew he wasn't giving her a choice.

Tonight, she was his pawn in a game of hate between brothers.

Ezekiel pushed open the door to his apartment and heaved out a sigh at the sight of Adela standing in the living room.

"What? What do more you want from me, Ella?"he frowned.
