"Come back with me,"Ezekiel said as he planted a kiss on her bare shoulder with the sunlight pouring into the motel room.

Her lips curled into a smile and she snuggled closer against him, her back to his chest.

"Where?"she questioned.

"Mystic Falls,"he whispered.

She turned around and her smile grew wider.

"Okay,"she said.

It was a new year and she was finally ready to be reunited with her brothers.

It was time for her to come back.

Ezekiel had been gone for too long too, having had to skip Bonnie's grandmother's funeral and a lot of other worried texts from Elena, Caroline and Alexandra. This was what he needed - a big break, but he had to go back to his life.

"But not yet,"Adela cupped his face in her hands.

"Let's spend a few more weeks here and then we'll go back,"she said.

"Anything for you, Miss Ella,"Ezekiel grinned and pulled her on top of him, resting his hands on her bare thighs as she straddled him.

She leaned down and planted a trail of soft kisses down his jaw.

It was better this way, for her to not remember him. A fresh start for both of them without the lingering memory that his sister was stabbed the same day he met the most gorgeous woman.

Ezekiel turned her chin to look up at him and leaned down to kiss her lips.

His heart beat like he was alive again, a feeling he has never felt in hundreds of years, living in a family like his.

She smiled against his lips.

"I don't know why.. You have this pull,"she said.

"Pull?"he frowned and chuckled in amusement.

"Yeah, you attracted me. I never stay anywhere for too long,"Adela sat up, straddling him with her palms on his chest.

"Or with anyone."

"I'm glad I changed your mind,"he said.

Now that he had her right by his side, there was nothing that could take her away. He would do anything to keep her here.

He didn't want to think about another eighty seven years without her.

That same night, his phone rang on the nightstand as they packed their clothes for a trip to Alexandria, Virginia.

He picked it up hesitantly, eyeing the name on his screen.

"You picked up,"Caroline said.

"Yeah..."he nodded and sat down on the edge of the bed.

He wished she didn't still have that power over him.

"They found Vicki's body... Matt's with Elena and I just,"she heaved out a sigh.

"I needed you... here. Where are you, Zeke?"she questioned and her voice broke as she said his name.

Ezekiel turned to the bag of clothes he had packed and the closed door where Adela would walk in from soon.

"I'm coming home,"he said.

"I'm coming home,"he said more surely.

"Okay,"Caroline said before the call ended.

Ezekiel grabbed his things and turned to the door where she stood in the doorframe.

"Where are you going?"Adela questioned.
