"You know... this is a bad idea,"Alaric said.

Damon poured himself a glass of his favorite bourbon and turned around to face him as he walked into the study room.

"There's no such thing as a bad idea. Just poorly executed, awesome ones,"Damon shrugged.

"You're putting Elijah at the same table with Elena's guardian where he could kill her if you break the deal,"Adela folded her arms and leaned against the desk.

"It's a bad and horrible idea,"she said.

"Here,"he offered the glass to Alaric who pushed it away.

"Jenna's safe,"Damon reassured.

"Besides, it's just a fact-finding mission. Totally harmless,"he took a sip of his bourbon and nudged Alaric.

"Just a fact-finding mission?"Adela scoffed.

"Yeah,"Damon said.

"Listen, no sneak attacks, no surprise plans, nothing that's gonna put Jenna in harm's way, okay?"Alaric folded his arms and shot him with a warning look.

"Scout's honor,"Damon brought his hand up to show the hand sign.

Andie walked into the room and leaned against the pillar, looking down at them standing near the fireplace.

"Hey, Jenna needs help with the wine,"she pointed over her shoulder.

"Thanks,"she said with a smile as Alaric passed by her.

"Yeah,"he muttered and left their presence.

Alaric closed the door behind him.

"Liar, you're not a Scout,"Adela slapped his arm.

"He doesn't know that,"Damon shrugged and grinned.

"Damon, he's serious. You can't risk Jenna getting hurt,"she said, brows furrowing at her brother's reckless behavior.

"Elena will hate you, which you care about a lot."

Damon rolled his eyes and nudged her aside. He opened the top of a box and pulled out a piece of item with a napkin wrapped around it. He unfolded the napkin to reveal the dagger.

"What's that?"Andie neared them.

"Dessert,"Damon smirked.

He opened up the small jar of white oak ash.

"Elijah's stronger than me and he's faster than me. It's all about the element of surprise,"he said as he dipped the tip of the dagger into the ash.

"What makes you think Ezekiel wouldn't come after you if you killed his brother?"Adela questioned.

Damon pulled the dagger out of the jar and turned to her.

"One obstacle at a time, baby sis,"he glanced at the weapon like a precious child.

"Well, that's too bad. I like him, he's very old-school classy,"Andie said.

"Which is why you should encourage the gentlemen to take their after dinner drinks in here while you do coffee in the kitchen with the girls,"Damon instructed as he placed the dagger in a hiding spot near the bourbon jars.

"That is so sexist,"Adela rolled her eyes.

Damon groaned and turned to her.

"Stop talking,"he said.

The doorbell rang and Damon smiled.

"Let's go,"he turned the girls toward the doors and nudged them out as he trailed behind them, closing the door to the study room.
