A private dinner, all curtains closed, front door locked and nothing else bothering them except the time ticking on the clock.

Adela grabbed a piece of fries and laughed as Ezekiel watched her face light up one last time at his jokes, a sight he had taken for granted when she was still... here.

"Where did he lay your body?"he questioned and her smile faltered.

"I'm in the basement in a really pretty casket.. I don't think he knows what to do with me,"she shrugged.

"Or maybe he doesn't know how to handle it,"she said.

"Do you see us all the time?"he frowned.

"Yeah, it's like I'm on the other side of this same town. I'm here with you but you aren't with me, you know?"she explained.

"It's weird. I have no idea how to explain it,"she grabbed another piece of fries.

"Zeke, I wanna see my brother,"she turned to him after a moment of silence.

He stared at her for a long minute, wanting her for himself for this final hour. He knew he couldn't hold her here, even if he could. It wasn't fair for Damon and her.

He deserved a goodbye as much as Ezekiel did. Damon lost his baby sister.

"Come on,"he nodded over his shoulder and grabbed his keys off the counter as he washed his hands and cleared their food.

"One last ride,"he smiled.

She squealed and jumped off the kitchen counter.

Ezekiel and Adela rode over to the Salvatore house as the sun began to set with no absolute clue of how much longer they had together.

"Damon?"she called out as she pushed the door open.

"Someone else is here,"Ezekiel stopped her.

He blurred into where he heard the sounds of rummaging and frowned in confusion.

"What are you guys doing here?"he questioned.

Caroline lifted her head up from the open drawer.

"Is that... Ella?"she gasped.

"Hey,"Adela stepped into the room.

"We're finding Elena's necklace. We need it to be able to destroy the foothold that all the ghosts have in our world,"Caroline waved her hand around, moving toward the bathroom as Bonnie kept quiet.

"Bonnie, are you okay?"he neared her.

"Yeah, I'm fine,"she nodded.

Caroline slammed the bars of soap into the bowl and groaned.

"I give up, it's not anywhere in this room,"she said.

"Do you think someone got to it first? I mean, aside from vampires, the roaming ghosts can leave and appear as they please,"Adela said.

Bonnie's phone rang on the top of the drawer and she turned to Caroline with a look before Caroline walked to answer it.

"What do you want, Jeremy?"she questioned.

Ezekiel exchanged glances with Adela.

"We're gonna go,"he pointed over his shoulder.

They headed down the stairs.

"Where are you going?"Adela frowned.

"I... I need to see you again. The real you,"he said.

He headed for the cellar in the basement and pushed open the door. Adela's desiccated body laid comfortably in a wooden casket with soft white pillows. Her eyes were closed and covered the once shining sapphire eyes. She was dressed in a beautiful blue dress with her hands holding a white rose.
