Andrea stumbled into his apartment and giggled, too drunk to even make her way straight to the bedroom. Ezekiel closed the door behind him and grabbed her arm, wrapping it around his shoulder as he carried her in his arms bridal style toward the bedroom.

As drunk as she was, she could still make out the softness of his skin against hers and his jet black hair as it fell down his forehead. His heart was beating in slow and calm rhythms and she could hear it right beside her head.

He was... different tonight.

"I can walk,"she said and hiccuped, her breath reeking of alcohol as she spoke so close to his face.

"Sure you can, Andie,"he shook his head and let out a sigh.

He laid her down on his bed and she pulled her jacket off, tossing it aside on the floor. She grabbed the comforter and wrapped herself in it, making herself at home before her eyes closed and she was asleep in a second.

He let out a chuckle and pushed her hair aside to let her breathe easier. She slapped his hand away.

"Alright, I'll leave you alone,"he muttered and his lips lifted into a smile.

He grabbed a pillow and a change of clothes before he closed the door to his room, leaving her to have her privacy. He headed into the kitchen to change into something more comfortable and clean and laid down on the couch, glancing up at the ceiling in thought.

Adela would be the last person he ever loved and he swore it. He would never let anything else happen between him and Andrea. All she would ever be to him was just a friend... right?

Maybe his mother was right. Maybe there was a chance that he could still love someone just as much.

He shut his eyes and forced himself into sleep, shutting out the thoughts and emotions that came with the memory of Adela.

Andrea awakened the next morning and stretched her arms over her head. She rolled over before the realization hit her.

She was not at Alexandra's house.

The wall full of pictures with people she's never known was evident enough.

Her head throbbed as she stood up and glanced around the room. She neared the wall of pictures and admired each and every one of them, most of it included a girl with blonde hair and a perfect smile. She headed out of the room to see Ezekiel sleeping on the couch with a frown over his eyes. She stopped and watched him, wondering what left him in that state of unease.

"You're staring,"he said and his eyes opened.

"I was not,"she scoffed and walked toward the kitchen.

"I could feel you staring,"he shook his head.

"Where do you keep your Advil?"she questioned, opening cabinets to find the little pill that could save her banging head.

"I don't,"he said.

"What?"she slammed one of the cabinets shut and she winced, the sound heightened with her hangover.

"Why don't you stay here and I'll head out and grab some for you?"he pulled a shirt on.

She shook her head.

"It's fine, I'm leaving anyway,"she walked into his room and grabbed her jacket off the floor.

"I can drop you-"

"No,"she stopped him and gazed at him with firm eyes.

"Please don't. We agreed this would be no strings attached,"she reminded and passed him, heading for the front door.
