Maddie Pov: "You can't keep me here!" I yelled at my dad, the morning after.
"Yes I can!" My dad said.
"I want to go back! My family is there!"
"Your family is here!" He shouted.
"No, I want to go back! You hate me, you replaced me with your new daughter years ago!" I shouted. "So let me leave!"
The night we got back, Billy explained how dad found me. I sent Billy a letter telling him about grandma. Dad opened it and he saw where it came from. He had always believed that I was missing, but never did anything about it.
Max's mom and my dad got married a while ago, my birthday would have been after the wedding. December.
Then July happened. . .so I ran away, with the help of Billy of course. I wonder if his favorite day is still the Fourth of July.. it was his favorite because that was the only day dad would leave us alone. And we would be able to watch the fireworks at the beach.
It was now December again, my dad had finally let me come back after a long time of arguing. I was staring at my plain bedroom, I had taken most of my stuff with me to Hawkins the first time I left so all I had was my least favorite toys, clothes, shoes, and more. I sat on my childhood bed, remembering all the bad memories, the good memories.
I looked at my wrist which still had Lucas's bandanna wrapped around. I glanced at my desk which had Dustin's hat. I smiled to myself. I was ready to be home. I got up and picked up Dustin's hat, under it had the unopened note lucas gave me. I couldn't bring myself to open it.

I was now staring at the Wheeler's home. It was my birthday. I knocked on the door and Karen opened it. She gasped and hugged me.
"Mike!" She yelled. "Everyone come here!"
Mike ran upstairs from the basement and his mouth fell open when he saw me. He ran towards me and hugged me,"you're back!"
"And for good." I said. "My dad, he agreed to move here."
Mike smiled and hugged me again,"I missed you so much." He pulled away and backed up. "We all have. Lucas and Dustin are in the basement."
I paused when he said just Lucas and Dustin.
"Will already went home." Mike added when he saw my face. I sighed and we ran downstairs. Lucas and Dustin almost knocked me down when they ran and hugged me.
"Happy Birthday!" They said and all stared signing the happy birthday song and they danced around me.
"Wait until Will finds out your back!" Dustin said . "He might like kiss you!"
