Hopper then walked out and fixed this shed up so we could keep him in there. Me, Max, and Mike did stuff to the washing machine. She was doing the tape as she said,"I get why El was your mage now."

"What?" Mike asked.

"Lucas, he told me about her."

"Well, he shouldn't have." I said.

"And just because you know the truth, doesn't mean you're in our party." Mike added. "You know that right?"

"Yeah, I know. I mean, why would you want a stupid zoomer in your part anyway?" She said. "I'm just saying, El? She sounds like she was really awesome."

"She was." Mike said. "Until that thing took her. Just like it took Bob. Like it almost took Maddie."

I stared at her as mike got up and walked away.

"Maddie-"

I got up and followed Mike, ignoring whatever max was saying.

And now we were fixing the shed up, adding cardboard, tape, everything. Johnathan brought Will in and they tied him. We added lights and plugged them in. I watched as Joyce and Hopper talked to him. He kept on yelling, the lights flickered. His voice changed as he screamed. And he then calmed down.

"Do you know what March 22nd is?" I asked, walking up to him. "It's your birthday. Your birthday."

"When you turned eight, your mom gave you the huge box of crayons." I said.

"Remember that? It had 120 colors." Joyce added. "You never stopped coloring stuff and showing me and Maddie the drawings."

"And all your friends, they got you Star Wars toys, because it was your favorite. Our favorite. But even though it was our favorite, all you wanted to do was draw." I told him. "And you drew me a spaceship, but it wasn't from any movie, you made the spaceship."

"You called it a rainbow ship." I said. "And you used every color in the box, and you took every minute of free time you had to make it. I gave it to your mom, so she could keep it, she was so proud of you."

"I even took it to work, and you were so embarrassed when i would tell anyone who stepped into the store that you made it. I was so, so proud of you." Joyce said to him

"Do you remember the day dad left?" Johnathan asked. "We invited Maddie over, and we stayed up all night building Castle Byers..just the way you drew it."

"And it took so long because you were super bad at hammering." Jonathan told him. "You would miss the nail every single time. And it started raining, but we still stayed out there anyway because Maddie loved the rain. We were all sick for a week after that and Maddie's grandma got so mad at her, but it was so funny. We all laughed at Maddie's grandma for weeks after that. We just had to finish it, we had to."
