Now we were all running, we ran down stairs as the Russians followed us. We were near the thing that was shooting stuff into the upside down. We were all yelling and dodging and knocking down stuff. We ran inside and closed a door as Steve and Robin held the door.

"No! Come on!" I yelled.

"Just go! Get help!"

I stared at him and Robin.

"Go!" They yelled.

"I won't forget you!"

"Go!" They yelled again. We then jumped down

"We have to do something!"

"We know." Erica hissed. And now we were telling Erica everything.

"After we exploded the Bomb. We drew the demo dogs away so eleven could close the gate." I said.

"But now, for some insane reason, the Russians appear to be trying to re open it," Dustin said. "Which just destroys everything we risked our lives for."

"By we, you're including Lucas?" Erica asked.

"Yes. Of course." Dustin said.

"So, all the shit you told me, Lucas was there?"

"Yeah?"

"My brother, Lucas Charles Sinclair?" She asked again

"Yes!"

"I don't believe you."

"Wait, so you believe everything about el and the gate, and the demo dogs and the Mind Flayer, but not about your brothers involvement?"

"That's correct." Erica said.

"Makes total sense." I said.

"You need help with that?" Erica asked Dustin.

"No."

"Well, it is taking a while."

"Well, yeah. No shit Sherlock." Dustin said.

"All right, so if we don't find a more
efficient method to stop these fans, we're never gonna find help, and your ice cream buddies are screwed." Erica said.

"Yes, with that attitude they are. Jeez-us."

"Just being realistic."

"I mean, we've made it about point three miles in nine hours. Then we had to walk three hours down that tunnel, so I would estimate ten miles back to the elevator, which would take us approximately Twelve and a half days." She said.

"Did you just- you know what? Never mind. You, Erica Sinclair, are a nerd."

"Come again?"

"You..are..a...nerd." Dustin said.

"Okay. You better take that back, nerd."

"Can't put the truth back in the box." I said.

"But it's not the truth." She said

"Let's examine the facts, shall we?" Dustin said.

"Fact one: you're a math whiz, apparently." Dustin said.

"that was a pretty straightforward equation."

"She's not wrong." I said

"Fact number two: you're a political junkie." Dustin said.

"Just because I don't agree with Communism as an ideology—"

"Fact three:" Dustin said.

"You love My Little Pony." Me and Dustin said together. He showed her the backpack she brought with her.

"And what does my little pony have to do with this?"

"Ah, let's recall the ponies' latest adventure, shall we?" I said.

"The evil centaur team and Tirek turns Applejack into a dragon at Midnight Castle, and then Megan and the other ponies
have to use Moochick's magic to defeat his rainbow of darkness,saving them from a lifetime of enslavement." Dustin said.

"All the pink in the world can't disguise
the irrefutable fact that centaurs and castles and dragons and magic are all standard nerd tropes." I told her.

"Ergo, My Little Pony is nerdy. Ergo, you, Erica, are a nerd." Dustin said.

"And how do you two know so much about My Little Pony?"

"Because we are nerds." Dustin said as I removed the box and pulled the electricity cables.

"Bam. Let's go nerds." I said. We started to climb behind the fan, and we eventually got to another opening, we climbed up and ended inside a room with the green substance bottle things." We ran down the stairs and I spotted a car thing.

"I'm driving!" I called out.

"No!"

"You've never drove!" I said.

"So? You've done it!"

"Exactly why I should!"

"No!"

"I'm driving or I will tell Lucas you had a crush on Max."

"Keyword. Had."

"Let me drive! You kept dart a secret from all of us."

"No I told y'all !"

"Eventually. After we spent hours, days, looking for him when you were keeping him in your house! And he then ate Mews! AKA my favorite animal in the world!"

Dustin stared at me,"whatever." I smiled and hopped into the drivers seat, Erica and Dustin squeezed in next to me.

I then laughed,"of course there isn't a key."

"Maybe there's a spare one." Dustin said. "Whoever finds it gets to drive."

We both started to look for it.

"Hey Maddie, how big did you say that Demogorgon was?"

"Huge. Nine feet or so. Why?" I asked as I took out a screw driver and picked open a lock. I grabbed the keys,"found them."

Dustin frowned,"damn it."

I then heard Dustin scream and I turned around. "What the hell!"

"It's a deadly weapon!"

"Ooh! Where did you get it from!" I asked. Erica and Dustin started to talk about the weapon as we got inside. I put the key inside and turned it on and started to drive. And eventually, we found the room they're in. We got the alarm to go off. Erica handed me the weapon, I made the blue thing light up and make noises. We ran out and I hit the ugly dude in white with it, he like seizured and fell to the ground.

"Hey! Hargrove and Henderson! I was just talking about you two! That's crazy!" Steve said.

I ran to Robin and undid the thing around her, "get ready to run."

Max Pov:
"What's going on?" Mike asked eleven.

"I'm on a beach." Eleven said.

"I might be dense, but the last I checked, there weren't any beaches in Hawkins." Lucas said.

"What else do you see?" I asked.

"A woman. She's..pretty." Eleven said. "I.. think she's looking at me."

"There's..two children. A boy and girl. Siblings." eleven said. "It's Maddie, and Billy."

"It's California." I said. "It's a memory."

"I think I see it. The source." Eleven said.

We waited, nervously. For eleven to say anything. Absolute anything. I wondered what eleven saw. I know it was probably bad but..I still wondered.

"I think I found it. The source."

"Where El? Where are you?" I asked.

"Brimborn Steelworks." Johnathan got your and ran, he grabbed something and showed Nancy. "Found it. 6522 Cherry Oak drive."

"El, we found it. El, get out of there." Mike said. She never did. Not until a few minutes later. She screamed,"NO!" As she yanked off her blindfold.
