We were now all sitting down in me and Max's trailer, Nancy was explaining what Vecna showed her.
"He showed me things that haven't happened yet." She said. "The most awful things. I saw... a dark cloud spreading over Hawkins. Downtown on fire. Dead soldiers. And this.. giant creature, with a gaping mouth. And it was alone, there was so many others. Like an army. And they were coming into Hawkins. The neighborhoods. Our homes."
She explained to us what she saw,"And then..he showed me my mom. And Holly. Mike. And You, Maddie. They... they were all.." her breath shakes.
"Okay. But...he's just trying to scare you, nance." Steve said. "Right? I mean...it's not real."
"Not yet. But there was something else." She said. "He showed me gates. Four of them. Spreading across Hawkins." She looked around. "They looked like the one outsides Eddie's Trailer, but...they didn't stop growing. And this wasn't the Upside Down Hawkins. This was our Hawkins. Our home."
"Four chimes." I said.
"Vecna's clock." Max said.
"It always chimes four times." I added. "Exactly four."
"I heard them too." Nancy said with a raspy voice.
"He's been telling us his plan this whole time." I said
"Four kills." Lucas said. "Four gates. End of the world."
"If that's true.. he's only one kill away." Dustin said looking at me and Max.
"Oh Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ." Eddie muttered.
"Try them again. Try them again." Steve said and I walked to the phone. I dialed the number, it ringed, no answer only the busy signal.
"Anything?" Asked Dustin
"No. Dang a few times, then went to busy signal." I told him as I set the phone back into place.
"Maybe you punched it wrong. Try again." Steve said.
"I didn't." I said as I grabbed it again and tried.
"Well I don't know." Said Steve.
"I think she knows how to use a phone." Dustin said.
"I'm just saying, she could of typed it in wrong." Steve told him. I put it back up, "same shit."
"How is that possible?" Lucas asked.
"I told you, Joyce has this telemarketer job. Always on the phone. Mike won't stop whining about it." Dustin said.
"Okay, yeah but this phones been busy for what, three days now?" Max said.
"Yeah, that's not Joyce." I said. "Something has to be wrong."
"She's right." Nancy said. "It can't be just coincidence. It can't be." She stood up. "Whatever is happening there is connected to all of this." She looked out of the window, "I'm sure of it. But Vecna can't hurt them. Not if he's dead." She turned around. "We have to go back in there. Back to the Upside Down."
