Now we were walking outside as eleven explained what happened.
"It's gonna start pouring soon." Max said. "We should be at the mall, or like watching a movie or something."
"You don't believe me?" Eleven asked.
"I believe you saw some weird stuff, totally,"
"But you said Mike has sensed you in there before, right? So maybe it was just like that. Maybe Billy just...sensed you somehow." Max said.
"But the screams." El said.
"Yeah, we know, but here's the thing." Max said. "When Billy is alone, with a girl. They make, like, really crazy noises."
"Max." I said
"They scream?"
"Yeah, but, like... happy screams." Max said and I mentally hit my face.
"Happy screams?" El questioned. "What is a happy scream."
"It's like... I'm just gonna lend you my mom's cosmo." Max said.
"And don't take it. Trust me. You will be traumatized." I added, I looked at the house. "Billy's car isn't here." I looked at her. "You really want to do this?"
Eleven nodded, we walked inside the house and then went inside Billy's room.
"Why do I get the feeling we're going to find all kinds of wrong in here?" Max asked. A heavy metal song was playing . Max opened a drawer, "ugh, gag me with a spoon." We then walked into the bathroom.
"Maddie. Max." Eleven said. We went to the bathtub where water water and bags of ice.
"Ice," Max said. "It's just ice. Probably for his muscles or something. He works out like a maniac."
Eleven looked around and then opened a cabinet, she then took out a trashcan and took out some lifeguard stuff. She turned to us, holding it up.
"Billy is a lifeguard." I said. She then took out a yellow whistle, I remember being at the pool with Billy, it was Heathers but I stayed silent.
Me, Max and eleven put on some matching rain jackets and went to the pool Billy works at. We went up to the lifeguards.
"Excuse me." Max said.
"No one in the water until 30 minutes after the last strike." The guy said. "And don't try and argue with me. Wanna get electrocuted, go climb a tree."
"We don't care, we aren't here to swim." I said. "Or get electrocuted, idiot." Eleven took out Heathers stuff. "We found this."
"Does that belong to anyone here?"
"Oh yeah." The guy said. "That's heathers. I'll get it back to her."
"We could give it back to her." I said.
"You could. Except she's not here." They guy said. "She bailed on me today. What is this? You girls want a reward or something?"
